We never really get context and I don't want to spoil anything here in case they read a comment, but basically it's about the tactic that Frieren and Flamme have used. It's possible she liked adding a bit of flair before revealing her trick card so to speak.

However I understand why a lot of people like it, and I saw some clips here and there online with fights and they look really pretty, so I get the hype around it. The only anime that legitimately made me upset, is Solo Leveling. Like, I managed to finish the season and I was just angry at the end of it, it was a legitimate hate-watch, I don't think I've ever hate-watched anything before or after XD It's the difference between a show that you know is good but it's just not for you, and a show that you think could have been great, and all you see is missed opportunities and mistakes.

He just lacks battle experience, even later on when he has cowardly scenes, they're not that unreasonable, except for a few gags here and there.

2024-12-21 21:25:54 +0000 UTC04:12 - This confused me too when I was first watching. They always mean their life so far. Fern spent half her life so far with Frieren, since she met her as a child. Frieren spent 1/100th of her life so far with the party of heroes - 10 years times 100 is 1000 so she is somewhere around a thousand years old. It can be confusing since Flamme, Frieren's master, lived a "thousand years ago" which is not an exact number, just a rough estimate when they say it in ep4, so Frieren would be at the end of her life if 10 years is 1/100th of her total lifespan. But it obviously isn't the case. She acts rather young sometimes.

Demon Slayer and Frieren are vastly different stories; the former is plot focused and driven while the latter is character focused and driven. Demon Slayer "objectively" doesn't have more well-written characters because it's not trying to, and that's okay. Not every aspect of every show needs to.be measured against one another just cause they resemble each other on the surface. Bottom line is; yes, Zenitsu of Demon Slayer is not as well-written as Stark of Frieren, but SO WHAT?

Stark is more of a man than Zenitsu can ever be, Stark's cowardice is written with purpose, he's super skilled but his fears hold him back, he lacks resolve, he doesn't need a stupid plot point like "he's only good when asleep" to overcome the difficulties he faces.

I, like many other people, don't like demon slayer so I am a bit biased either way. Although everyone generally agrees and videos have even been made on youtube about why Stark is a better version of zenitsu in every way possible

Arcane S2 is almost done, they want to do something short afterwards, then Invincible. My Hero Aca is ending soon too, Kaiju Nr8 is pretty short as well, so there's going to be a rotation of shows.

Its just more so about her personality and how she liked to act if you get what I mean. That part can throw you off a bit especially in the english dub.

A huge part of this show to me is getting the characters to explore different narrative interpretations about themselves and each other, not just in Frieren’s case.
