Also, without Hextech, Piltover couldn't just blow up economically without depending as much on Zaun like it did in the original timeline. Silco said it himself in Season 1, "Thanks to the Hexgates, topside is leaving us further and further behind." Without it, Piltover would not have become the "global shipping lane" that it became, and would have been more incentivized to have good relations with Zaun in order to increase economic growth and keep up with the rest of the world.

Lore context: Heimerdinger belongs to a species of immortal spirit beings known as Yordles. It's unknown if Yordles can resurrect back into a mortal form, but they can't actually "die" in a traditional sense either. Whenever a Yordles body is destroyed or "killed", their soul will most often go back to the spirit world or will reside near the closest region from where they originally entered the mortal realm. When it comes to Yordle lifetimes, Heimerdinger would technically be considered to still be in his youth. There are some Yordles that are well over 10,000 years old and a few believed to have been born before even prehistoric times.

That's how I saw it. Instead of Marcus seeing it as an attack with fugitives on the run, he saw how the current status quo was causing children to make such desperate choices with devastating consequences. Especially since his own daughter was most likely just born.

I think jinx more or less became jinx because every mission they went on they kept calling her a jinx and then when vi kept saying she wasn't until she blew up everything and vi hit powder and said that she is a jinx. Just being put down like that made it worse and worse so she believed it. But in this universe she lost vi before more and more trauma so to say happened and also having Vander and silico.

Just felt like I should chime in but as someone who speaks french I've seen a lot of people interpreting the song that played with Jinx and Ekko as a love song without realizing what they're actually saying. To sum up the whole song it's essentially one of a tragic romance. The chorus; "but my best enemy is you, flee me, the worst is me and you." In the song he literally starts the song with "You're the best thing that happened to me but also the worst, the day that we met, I would have maybe preferred we didn't"

The best episode of the season ! Ekko and Jinx/Powder have one of my favorite dynamics of the show so seeing an episode dedicated to them was amazing. Timebomb literally has my heart. After finishing the season you should look into the official art book. It’s written from Jinx’s perspective so you get more of an insight of her relationship with Ekko!

I got the impression that he got kicked off the council actually. He tells Ekko that he should be careful about talking about parallel universes and it makes it sound like he tried to talk about it and people thought he was crazy. I think the reason Zaun and Piltover have a good relationship is because Silco went to offer his condolences to Vander after Vi's death and they were finally able to talk their issues out, Vander would've given him the letter that he never did in the other timeline. They were both close with Vi&Powder's mother so it'd make sense for them to hash things out over grief. Jayce is also probably in prison or dead, his experiments killed a person, so he would be treated way harsher, and likely there was no hunt for the crystals in this timeline either, so no enforcer brutality to worsen relationships.

If you go back to S1E1, you can see how Vi is the only one who's still inside the apartment when the crystal explodes. She gets knocked down, but is otherwise uninjured. She was simply too close to the blast in this alternate timeline.

As we all know, during Act 1 of S1 Marcus had a low opinion of the undercity and its people, seeing them all as nothing more than criminals. Despite the fact that the kids were trying to steal, seeing a little girl cry over her dead sister probably gave Marcus a much-needed reality check in this timeline. Vi's death seemed to not only prevent Hextech from being invented, but also contributed to improving relations between Piltover and Zaun (and was what led Vander and Silco to reconcile).

Fun fact: the Z-Drive is the source of Ekko's abilities in League of Legends (time manipulation). His ultimate move is the 4-second rewind. His powers were foreshadowed a few times back in season 1. His first line of dialogue in the show is "Give me a few seconds..." The whole fight sequence against Jinx in S1E7 is a clever reference to his ult. The scene first shows them as kids playing a game, with Powder landing a shot on Ekko, then "rewinds" back to the present in which Ekko predicts Jinx's shots. Not to mention Ekko's shadow in S2's intro "ticks" counterclockwise 4 times, and his leap at the end is rewound.

42:10 - Regarding Silco and Vander, my theory is that after Vi's death Silco went to offer his condolences to Vancer, after all they both were close with Vi&Powder's mother, and Vander finally was able to give Silco that letter that he never could in the other timeline. They cleared the air over grief and finally were able to move on. There was no manhunt for the stolen items in this timeline after all, likely because Jayce either died or was put in prison since his invention killed a person.

Possibly. There's the question of which universe he got sent to. While he was in the good universe it's possible his spirit went through the portal too with ekko and is in his home. With the caveat of i got bo idea how fictional spirit magic reacts with fictional arcane magic that bends space and time.

Not Vi nor Powder is the real Jinx. It's not just Vi being dead in this alternative reality that's different. We also have Vander and Silco working side by side. Some might say hextech was the real jinx. I think there never was any Jinx at all, it's just life, you can't blame everything on just a singular individual.

As for the tineline differences, i think what happened is jayce took all the blame for the explosion. It's possible he died in the explosion too so wasn't able to defend himself or show the power of hex tech. What he did was a massive taboo with playing with magic that almost got him banished. With the kids still being at the crime scene and the power source he was messing with seemingly destroyed the fear that the council had of zaunites using the technology is gone. What's more, someone like Vander knows how to play the pr game. I see 2 likely scenarios. Vander agreed to cover up what happened to his daughter in exchange for more resources and equal treatment (piltover will want to sweep it under the rug, especially Jayce's sponsor) or the senseless death of a child due to Piltover's greed (both for power directly by Jayce and just in general that led to the situation that required zaunite children to go be criminals) motivated society to change. I think silco was changed because he didn't have the oppurtunity thst caused him to do what he did in season 1 and most likely he found the letter Vander left. Jinx said it could have been different if he found it.

It's unclear what happened to Heimerdinger but I think he used innate Yordle magic. Yordles are also spirit creatures that take on physical bodies. So he can easily come back. One aspect to Echo's decision that I wouldn't be able to ignore if I was in his shoes is what happened to this worlds Ekko? One can make a very compelling argument that Ekko would be killing the Ekko of that universe if he stayed. Or condeming him to life in the main universe. If I had no way back I might not look as hard as ekko did but once there is a way back it will feel way too wrong morally to stay. At that point it becomes a choice of whether to allow the other Ekko to exist or not and thats just too close to murder.

The party scene might be my new favorite musical moment of the show. The song is FIRE, the prom vibes are immaculate, and Ekko and Powder are so cute.
