It’s where he proves himself to be even more of a badass than we initially thought, and also where he proves that he can’t confront his problems properly to save his life. On one hand, I’m annoyed, but on the other, it’s kinda impressive how much this has made me think. 😅

2025-01-04 17:58:47 +0000 UTCEndeavor is such a weird character. Like, on one hand he's interesting as heck. But on the other hand he has one of the most confusing arcs I've ever seen. I can respect what was attempted, but I whenever people talk about how this character as if he's well-written, I kind of wonder what they mean, since for all intents and purposes, this is one of the sloppiest ways I've ever seen an arc about "atonement" get executed. Cool fight and amazing voice acting aside, Enji's writing is a different beast entirely.

2024-11-30 22:22:34 +0000 UTCI think the “Endeavor IS more suited to be a hero character rather than a character with an atonement arc” point is kind of the essence of this episode. For better, or for worse. I’m pretty adamant that Endeavor’s atonement arc written pretty badly, but luckily his fights and voice acting is some of the best in the series, and that’s a series with incredible voice acting all around.

Me and my sister had an abusive dad my mom left him and when I was 14 he showed up again saying he was “sorry” of course we thought it was BS so we kept our distance but through the years he showed that he was different so we did forgive him a long time ago. this thanksgiving I flew to Arizona to spend time with my sister my Dad also flew there from his home and we loved being together I hope that at the end endeavors family forgive him the words “I’ll win and keep looking at Toya” those words where deep!

He just doesn't have that kind of power. Tokoyami does. He's worked up to maximize his strength into an attack like this. It felt very earned.

Either way, I think endeavor saw the massive gulf between him and All Might when it came to being a hero, and his inability to figure out how to close that gap (and become a "true hero") infuriated him to no end. That anger ultimately fueled his efforts at quirk engineering and the cascade of misdeeds that was his life before and at the start of the series. That anger was born from his awareness of his shortcomings (that he had them, not necessarily knowing what they were at the time) and his refusal to accept them.

2024-11-30 18:31:36 +0000 UTCI think he's known it throughout the series. In the montage, he speaks to his feeling of inferiority upon seeing a "true hero" (in reference to All Might). I think he's known pretty much since All Might's rise, which was very early on (I'm not sure he had even become a pro yet at that point). Granted, while I think he knew it, I don't think he necessarily acknowledged or accepted it until later on, even to himself. Certainly not outwardly until around the time he started to work on atonement for his wrongs.

It's a good way of subtly showing how the other kids are inspired by All Might as well, not just the big ones like Deku and Bakugo. Also, when it comes to AFO's Quirks rebelling, I definitely think it's a little of column a, a little of column b. He likely does have less control with his duplicate AFO, but they probably also only just started rebelling now because they saw someone weak like Jiro standing up to the demon lord in spite of her weakness.

You don’t “need” to kill of your favorite characters to reach a perfect story, obviously maybe another death makes it better, but this story about kids didn’t need that.

Also they didnt show the detail for Aizawas leg, just a silhouette, this time they SHOWED IT in all its brutality. Honestly it could be because its been so long since I watched new mha this just feels totally new to me, but really feels like the brutality is being dialed up!
