MHA 6x8

Enjoy! Next ep Saturday!

Literally tons of heroes have kids, it's no different than a police officer or fire fighter having a kid, your life is on the line regardless. The problem was her husband died which lead her to believe hiding her son with another family would be safer. In theory she wasn't wrong AFO didn't care about her anymore once she died, he only went after her family to use them against All Might

WhateverIFeelLike

It didn't work at all though. AFO literally tells All Might he specifically tracked Shigaraki down to use her family against him. Grand Torino even says the plan was a mistake

WhateverIFeelLike

He’s actually not trying to justify anything. Shigaraki himself has blatantly stated that he knows he’s going too far, and that it’s necessary to “go too far” to get the job done. Even if he was lying, which he isn’t, that doesn’t make what he’s saying any less true.

Noboi

I mean, that’s kind of the crux of the argument though. Endeavor is there to fight, not to listen or take anything away from this situation like he should. He more or less proved Shigaraki 100% correct by responding in the way that he did.

Noboi

37:45 - Interesting, you do need to keep in mind that her son was Shigaraki's father, so very technically, her plan did work. Her choice did protect him from All for One, we know this, the problem is, he grew up bitter and full of hate towards his mom who gave him up, he clearly didn't have a good life and he took it out on his own son who ended up killing him. True, it turned out horrible in the end, but yeah that is hindsight. Her goal was to protect her son and she kinda did that, even if her son hated her for it.

David Bodor

I understand he’s the bad guy and they have stop him no matter what, but I feel like the heroes really not listening to his monologue somewhat proves his point of “you still not understanding is why we have heroes and villains”

Stellarnut

My absolute favorite moment of this episode and maybe the entire series is that Eraser Head was pulling his blade out before that bullet hit him. Dude came ready to give everything to protect his kids and I just love him for it. :')

Ethan Brown

It was a pool episode (that they SKIPPED), but yeah. Good times. 😔

H-Bomb 24

Mineta is goated sometimes ngl

Noboi

Tbh, I kind of disagree. Since Shigaraki was basically explaining his whole reasoning for why he’s doing what he’s doing, I would argue that now would be the best time to talk. I would also say that Endeavor proving Shigaraki’s point was the best way to escalate the situation more than anything. Granted he’s there to fight, not to talk, but that’s kind of the point here.

Noboi

tbf there's no way off all people tomura is going to listen to endeavor of all people. This also isnt the time to talk, they have no feasible way of talking him down without straight up talk no jutsu.

EndSoul995

and it's not like she was giving up a baby she gave up a 10 year old (basically) so he has memories of her. If Kotaro was a baby this would've played out the way she wanted or at least way more along the lines of it. instead, she gave up her son who knew her well abandonment to that level would wreck a child, especially into adulthood.

EndSoul995

You're not wrong about that one. especially knowing what's coming...from both shows lmao

Jinchuriki87

Then you have JJK strolling in to kick them while they're down 😆😭

Juan Solo

I agree, I do think Kotaro would've been better off (at least a bit) if Shimura allowed Gran Torino and All Might to keep in touch with him. At the very least he wouldn't have felt completely abandoned/alone.

Juan Solo

Shigarkis/handmans speech/monologue was god was god tier dub/sub always love it, goes so hard fkn goated

AUSSIEJD

Shimura situation: if you're gonna become a hero, maybe don't have a kid who would be a target for villans. Even better, don't agree to inherit a power that makes you a target for the Lord of Evil and have a kid, or if you had to take it (maybe previous user was dying and she was only one around), immediately pass it on. She had numerous choices before it reached the point where she felt she had to choose to abandon her son, even when she abandoned him she could have chose to pass on ofa and the responsibility of taking on afo, instead she chose duty over family, some may agree with this due to the fundamentals of their morality placing duty as higher than family, but in a world where heros are motivated by more than just duty (fame, prestige, money) its especially hard for people who put family above duty to see her decision as correct

Kelly Ravelini

I actually don’t think that what Shigaraki is saying here is any more true than any of his other lies. He’s just more personally invested in this lie, so he defends it more emotionally than his others. It’s still just a childish excuse to justify his desires. He’ll argue it harder but ultimately none of his actions would change by conversing about his excuses because they aren’t what really drives him to behave this way.

Mekar

Its a nit pick but when Deku does his 100% on Shiggy he does actually mess him up quite bad with his face and teeth if i remember correctly but the anime censored it and the result is it looked like it was weak and no had no effect

Eugene Wanhalla

It also was more of UA students vs gigantomacia because most of the leuage did one attack then were unable to attack for a bit

Braden Jackson

I agree to an extent that shigaraki dosnt believe what he preaches he said so himself that he is just using stains motives to control powerful people but I do believe that he truly believes what he said to endeavor because this one is true on most accounts in the past you can easily see the childish attempt to make an excuse but I don’t see that her also in the beginning he was childish and locked away his memories that are crucial to what he believes now but I do agree that even if endeavor did continue the conversation it wouldn’t matter endeavor wouldn’t be the person shigaraki wants to hear from

Braden Jackson

I don't really agree that Endeavor should have tried to talk it out. Tomura has shown multiple times that he's willing to lie and rant about stuff he doesn't actually believe in order to gain sympathy. Endeavor would have that intel from all the previous interactions the heroes have had with Tomura. All Might has made a point of calling it out when he talks about Tomura. I also don't even think Tomura is telling the truth in this situation. He may really believe it's true, but the truth behind him is that it's all window dressing for how utterly evil he is. He yearns for destruction and just looks for childish excuses to make that make sense in a world where it doesn't. That's all this is and Endeavor didn't fall for it. Placating the excuses won't turn him off because it's not what really drives him.

Mekar

Which is one thing that has bugged me about the show. I understand some people see him in the state he's in and maybe wanna keep their distance. But the idea that NOBODY took the time to try and talk to him?

Jinchuriki87

Y’all remember when we had that fun beach episode… or the dorm contests… or the fun little tournament. Remember the happy times when there was no worries 😭

Pugz

Completely forgot about this insane cliffhanger!!!!

Daran Tung

Blame the people posting the questions and the people liking the questions.

Gestrid

they're waiting so both of them can watch s7 :)

Doge Creations

It was cool that Kirishima was the one to jump in and save ashido from him because the flashback kirishima had back in season 4 when ashido met gigantomachia was something he always struggled with and felt guilty about because Kirishima was there and couldn't move his legs (comparison to deku who moved his legs despite being scared). It shows his growth from that point to now he will rush in no matter what to be a chivalrous hero.

L.C.

Yeah idc how little mineta is saying perverted things I'd still like to throw him in the trash.

Katsuki BakuGOAT

Are you currently keeping up to date with season 7 or since you guys are so close to catching up are you just waiting so both of you can react to the final couple of seasons?

L.C.

This episode is like that meme where the music stops. "YOU SAY RUN STOPS"

Gestrid

As an OG MHA fan who has been watching since season 1 she should be put through the same mental torture as us who had to wait week to week

L.C.

Telling him what his father told him (heroes hurt those who love them) to endeavor of all people was not on accident😭

Scar

Lol imagine if both of class 1a's teachers lost their quirks

gamerx

The most painful cliffhanger of all, waiting a week for this next episode was agony.

no u uwu

I think someone once said that the biggest villain of the series was that woman who decided to not help him because "a hero will surely come and take care of it" Of course, she wasn't the only one, but she is pretty much the symbol for it

Saiyasha

Yeah, Season 6 is cooking with something else, as, btw, is season 7. You're gonna love it.

Saiyasha

Why was the first part of the episode (you know, the TITLE OF THE EPISODE "Class A vs League of Villains") not brought up ONCE during the discussion?

H-Bomb 24

MWAHAHAHAHA

H-Bomb 24

Dang, I don't remember the episode ending THERE! 😳

H-Bomb 24

Shigaraki is correct that in a world we’re everyone wanted to be a hero nobody helped him at any point except for the devil himself view it like tenko is drowning in water and a boat is right next to him with a open seat and all the people have to do is pull him up but non of them do because they don’t want the inconvenience of getting a little wet and leave him that is earth shattering especially after he killed his family

Braden Jackson

My thoughts on Shimura’s decision: while I completely understand the situation she was in, there was a better way to ensure that the love she had for her son was conveyed properly. It’s not simply that she gave him up to protect him, but it’s also the docking of records and telling Gran Torino to not have any contact with Kotaro that I feel is where she made the biggest mistake. The one person who knew her best and could protect him was not allowed to do so. Also, like Kota, he could have been helped to see and understand why his mother made that sacrifice. I know this may or may not have have changed Kotaro’s view of his mother, but it would have been better in my opinion if she didn’t leave such a cold impression for him to remember.

Lamar31

Also to piggyback off of montanas use of the trolley problem, thinking back to shigirakis origin back in season 5, tenko is the one on the track, the trolley is going to hit him, there’s no one on the other track at all, nobody will come and pull the lever, in a world full of superheroes how could one 1 singular person save him and it be all for one, basically satan

Ksweets

You know, maybe Mineta SHOULD'VE been the one to take down Machia . . .

H-Bomb 24

I understand we won’t get next episode until Saturday, but please tell me you didn’t make Montana wait to watch h the next episode, 1 week was INSANE for me

Ksweets

This ending doesn’t get enough credit

Justin Spencer

Before the episode, Montana: "I'm optimistic" MHA "are you sure about that???"

Jinchuriki87

Oh the waiting for this season is AGONIZINGGGG. I know exactly how Montana be feeling bc my boyfriend is the one who showed me this show.

Kylie Robbins

next couple eps are PEAK

Butthead faxe

Montana saying shigaraki looks kinda f***ed up but to be continued lol, oof...

Babybear47

Yep 100%

Letts React

I remember someone saying this, but Endeavor responding to Shigaraki’s speech about heroes never truly understanding, by just blasting him with fire was a great way to prove Shigaraki’s point.
