Vaught - WIP - Chapter 8

Benny is ready to throw all his life away for his mistress, and when he starts to wonder if he should obey Greg and break it off with her, she gives him a thorough demonstration of why she's worth the risk.

Hi all.  As I mentioned in the preceding post about the Milktec Man's War, this is the part of Vaught that I snagged on.  A couple of reasons for it, but mainly I had to reconfigure the order of these chapters a bit in my head.  For now, you'll see some new little headers that denote the POV shifts in the timeline.  The crux of the issue is that Benny's story is told by Greg after the first part of Alice's story, but chronologically the first part of Benny's story happens directly before the first part of Alice's.  Fixing it involves shifting some of the conversation between Elizabeth and Greg and then swapping the order of the chapters.  For now, I'm putting a pin in it to push on with the rest of the story.  

The point of this Benny POV is to give some stakes to his involvement since his affair with Melanie is the point around which the other actions pivot.  So this gives a little glimpse of how they interact with one another, speculates on whether they're in love or infatuated, and gives some context for the reason of Benny's popularity with women.  While the spicy scenes don't involve serum, I think they play out well with some focus on alternate methods.

As always, this is a WIP so expect spelling and grammatical errors as well as issues of minor continuity.  I always enjoy reading feedback either in comments or DMs.  Also, we're almost at the halfway point of another year. I don't continually lavish praise on all you wonderful patrons because I think that can get tiresome for people to read and makes it a bit less genuine.  But, I thoroughly enjoy writing these series and a both glad and thankful all of you are here to read them, too.
