They constantly fall back on their grievances of the past to justify bad actions in the present like children. That type of mindset shirks personal responsibility entirely. That's why this arc was so popular in the west but never resonated in Japan.

Shigaraki not longer having that shaky voice because heβs more confident and in control was very interesting on Eric Valeβs part, I honestly makes him sound scarier. You can definitely compare him more to Kimblee now. (Not like Trunks anymore I guess, with the lack of blue hair)

2024-07-20 20:25:56 +0000 UTCSo yeah when season 5 aired originally, the Japanese fanbase didn't really care for the My Villain Academia arc in the manga as much as Overhaul's arc or season 6's arc. So a lot of focus was not put on MVA. Also, during this time the 'World Heroes' Mission' movie was being made so ppl assumed that more of the team was animating the movie while a skeleton crew handled season 5. All of this led to the American fanbase being upset w the lack of detailed animation sequences in MVA (outside of the last fight w Shigaraki and ReDestro). Sorry for the long explanation but this was how it originally occurred when season 5 aired

All some people have been doing since you started season five is whine about how lackluster this season is in comparison to the source material, but that doesn't make it bad. Glad to find some people who can just enjoy something for what it is, not as they'd like it to be.
