Convent of Sin - Chapter 10

Hell erupts from below the Convent.

Hi all! A day late, but here's the grand finale of Convent of Sin.  It is some level of weird, but honestly at this point I've lost perspective on how weird it is.  I'll do a bit more post mortum on it at the bottom in case you don't want to have the weirdness spoiled for you.

It's been a high pressure few days for outside smut reasons, and this was like a big flashing buzzer in my brain, so I'm glad to have finished it up.  I've got Nymph all pulled up and in between writing sessions I've been plucking at those strings.  I'm eager to write something that's more outright raunchy fun.  For now, happy reading!

This is the jump to rambling about Convent!

First, I definitely need some distance to know exactly how pleased I am with this entry.  I am quite pleased that it's done, but I am also aware that the back half of the series and the front half don't line up as well as I want them to.  Individually they might stand better than as a whole.  

The whole thing clocks in at 65k words which is about half the length of Neighborhood Bull if that provides context.

There winds up being a lot more talk about sex than actual sex.  Part of this problem is in the time period.  Setting it in the middle of WWII gives it good atmosphere, but we talk way more openly and sexually post 1960 than before that.  Adding the layer of nun on top of that made the characters jumping to using words like 'cock' or 'cunt' a little inelegant.  I also wound up in a bit of a loop of trauma to sin to corruption which isn't bad once or twice, but felt like it became a crutch.

I had fun with this chapter, too, of course.  Nancy gets a little shorted on the attention, but it's hard to measure a fairly basic lesbian scene up against turning a whole nun into a giant, living dildo.  I like the hell beasts for being real messed up versions of normal animals like horses or dogs.  That said, things got a little "simile happy" since the transformations needed points for relation to real world items and the narrator wasn't any one individual.

The stinger ending is there because I wound up thinking that Sister Helen needed a more ambiguous send off.  What happens to Marietta was Helen's original fate, but I wanted the concept to escape the Convent and figured the narrative had room to let Helen go.  So, she gets away in the hook that allows for the story to go on either by my eventual hand or at least in the reader's head.  

I'm not sure it's a sexy story much after this point.  The demons continue converting people until it's a fullblown war between humanity and demons.  Helen becomes the leader of the human side and Sasha on the other.  Humanity is able to resist only because they happened to be in the middle of a massive war in the first place.  Some nations side with Sasha, others fall to cultists, and so on.  I included all these hooks because I wanted the concept in that Sasha's version of the world doesn't poof out of existence or manage some last second win.  I've used that out in Crimson Milk/Reborn and other demon oriented series including the predecessor to this, Carnal Abbey.  

So, yeah, sex demons win, humanity is destroyed.  On to the next world!
