2024-07-04 03:10:04 +0000 UTCEverybody seems to be talking about Blue Eye Samurai. But honestly, DO NOT sleep on Scavenger's Reign. Blue Eye Samurai is good, but it's very "been there, done that." Meanwhile, Scavengers Reign feels like a truly unique show that's hard to compare to anything else. I've seen good shows like Blue Eye Samurai before, but I'd never seen something like Scavenger's Reign before and it's stuck with me way more as a result.

I haven’t heard a single bad review of it yet. Animation quality is incredible, the voice cast is amazing, and the story and characters are incredibly well realized.

2024-06-30 13:43:41 +0000 UTCBlue Eye Samurai is very good -- with an animation style that is in many ways very similar to Arcane (in terms of the use of the CGI, BES isn't as painterly as Arcane). The visuals are breathtaking. There is nudity, but the depiction of nudity is very clinical and isn't for fan service. It's more for shock value than anything. BES is short (8 eps) but its story is brilliant and very subversive. The fight sequences are top tier -- one of which rivals the Echo vs Jinx fight in Arcane. I am still rooting for The Legend of Vox Machina to finally win a poll (stellar voice-acting and well written protagonists), but BES is definitely among the best shows of the past year. Would also add that I'm very intrigued by Scavengers Reign and will watch along if you pick it. It is made by the same animation studio that also makes Vox Machina.

2024-06-29 15:18:59 +0000 UTCBlue Eye Samurai is great for this platform. It has a different feel than other shows you watch since it is more grounded. The themes are darker with character progression being everpresent and well paced. It has a memorable cast of characters and good action scenes.

I can't think of a single character in that show that was not a good character. The story is equally engaging. I can't wait for season 2

It’s such a great show, captivating, really distinctive from what has been coming out both western and eastern animation in the last few years. I’ve been thinking about it for months after watching it. It’s unfortunate it got buried by HBO. Blue Eye Samurai is an impeccable formulaic modern show (rely heavily on shock). It’s great at what it does, but doesn’t really stand out for me. I forgot about it a little after finishing it, but it was a sweet ride while watching it. It’s really the better show for reactions because it has way more recognition and will get you more engagement.

Blue Eye Samurai has amazing fight choreography and Scavenger’s Reign has wonderful atmospheric creativity, it’s one of the most unique worlds I’ve seen. Seriously cannot recommend either enough!

Haven't seen anything past the first episode of the main show because life got busy, but I do remember enjoying it, too. I would definitely watch a reaction to it!

Its art direction is truly unique in a way that isn’t conveyed as well in screenshots. Fans of good art owe it to themselves to at least check out a trailer!

Blue Eye Samurai if I had to pick one, if only because I think it’s more popular, but I want Scavengers Reign to get a second season so bad and that can’t happen unless more people watch it 😭

2024-06-29 02:41:24 +0000 UTCLOVE blue eye samurai! but I will say that’s it’s definitely a *mature* show as in lots of 18+ scenes that wouldn’t work for youtube. as far as the violence, it’s definitely bloodier than other anime i’ve scene but I wouldn’t say it’s gross or gory (for someone like montana). if you don’t react to it you should at least watch on your own time at least or try out the first couple eps and see what you think :)
