I can understand why you might feel that way, but I would recommend going back and rewatching more closely. Uraraka herself admits in the sports festival that she was relying on Deku too much and challenged him the same way Iida did. Uraraka does have a crush on Deku, they are friends, and he’s the main character so naturally a lot of the other characters develop around him including Shoto, Bakugo, and Tenya. Uraraka’s whole backstory is that she’s concerned about who protects the Heroes when they get hurt and need saving. Deku like All Might throws himself into danger without any regard for his own safety, which ties into Uraraka’s whole backstory. She also has her own relationship with Toga and others that’s separate to Deku and her work study and internships were her own choices that were also separate to Deku In short her story and character doesn’t revolve around Deku anymore than anyone else. You could replace Deku with a woman or another character who risks their life in the same way and her story wouldn’t change, because she’s the one who protects and stands up for the heroes

2024-07-14 01:00:05 +0000 UTCIt's interesting, bc Uraraka making the plane weightless would not slow it down, so they had to destroy the engine to make sure it didn't fall when it was made weightless. Her powers are super interesting and I feel like the anime could do a lot more with it. Weightless things still have mass, so they're not that much easier to get moving, but once they are moving they'll keep moving. She could do some insane things with the power, it's honestly surprising they don't. She can take out any villain that doesn't have the ability to fly or teleport with just a touch. Also - She desperately needs to get some of those tungsten chess pieces Nighteye had, like damn any super heavy super dense projectile would be great in her hands. It'd still have mass, so it's not like she can accelerate it to light speed or anything, but it's still useful, bc the only thing reducing speed would be air resistance, she can focus every Newton of force into forward motion. She could throw things better than most people. Honestly a bow or a crossbow could be insane for her, like make the arrow weightless and your range is essentially infinite, only limited by the curvature of the Earth.

2024-07-12 22:53:54 +0000 UTCYeah she's a real mixed opportunity. Honestly it's a bit of a shame that of the highest rank heroes in 1A, there's not really any women in it. Like, the top 3 are Deku,Bakugo,Todoroki, then maybe you can count Tokoyami and then further below you have Chargebolt, Red Riot, but none of the female heroes even come close up. Uraraka's power breaks one of the fundamental forces of physics, she could do SO much cooler stuff than just drop rocks. The Nomu from season 1 could've been done in by Uraraka just touching it at any point. She basically has Shigaraki level on-touch killing power just with extra steps. It's honestly a shame she never gets to use that move on a villain.

It’s also why I’ve never cared for their relationship either (and before anyone comes for me, no I don’t ship bakudeku either). So I’m just curious if you guys have your own thoughts on her

I think one of the biggest weaknesses of my hero academia is the way their female characters are written (a common theme in all of shonen tbh). Practically everything about Uraraka and nearly every moment of development she ever has revolves around Deku and is done in response to him or because of him. She hardly ever has her own moments and I think it’s why I’ve never really cared about her that much. I just would love to know if you guys agree or if you feel different

Everything else about the song is just awful though. This is a very Man with a Mission song. So many of their songs sound like this, despite that they occasionally do great like Demon Slayer s3. I really hope that MHA doesn't end up using their song "My Hero" which I am confident they only released because they wanted it to be in MHA. It's not a bad song either, just very generic. The Nickelback comparison definitely works.

I love seeing the other characters succeed and just become characters we care about. Now if any of them are injured or in danger we are more invested in their stories/survival than if the filler never happened.

I personally think it's fine even if I agree it's not the best episode by a wide margin. I definitely don't understand how people could get so upset over a reactor watching it instead of skipping though. Let them experience the show for themselves and make their own opinion on it.

It tried to ignite the few fumes that are there. But it isn't potent enough to explode to life. He is surely still connected to it, as he could feel OFA working in Deku in the hospital. If we can be okay with Bakugo getting and losing OFA in 3 minutes, we can accept that Small Might may desire some of his power back and drugs might be able to do it. 🤷🏾

I.e. better to have more than you need than risk having less.
