I havent seen anyone else mention it, but Kenny, the snail in the opening is a spoiler, so DO NOT look it up. Its one of those things where if you know what it is, you understand OR if you know the story, its an obvious tease. The leg chainsaws are an ability he learned to make use of, if you go back to the last episode and see him on the ground after fighting Kishibe, his pant legs are torn up, foreshadowing the leg saws. The fight with Katana on the train was inspired by Spider Man 2s train fight scene. (Sam Raimi's) The Ghost Devil took ALL of Himeno. As we have seen, Devils are more than just literal, they accept conceptual ideas (The Eternity Devil, the concept of inevitable, forever, infinity). One of the things in Himeno's possession... was her feelings for and promise to Aki. The Ghost Devil sees with fear, Aki got afraid and the Ghost recognized it was Aki, and fulfilled the promise and contract ("I'll give you everything" from when she disappeared). And as other people have said, the girl at the end is a tease of an upcoming character, who will be the focal point of the movie. Also, the city mouse and country mouse story shes referencing, was being read to Akis little brother in the episode with his flashback. The moral of said story is, "Poverty with security is better than plenty in the midst of fear and uncertainty." Sounds like Denji's situation and his dreams just a bit.

The girl at the end was just teasing the next arc of the manga, which the upcoming movie will adapt. I can’t really pick a favorite arc of CSM because they all kind of build on each other but I’d say the movie is going to go fucking crazy. It’s gonna be horrific, it’s gonna be bittersweet, it’s gonna be straight up Evil Dead levels of campy gore, it’s gonna be hilarious. I can’t wait.

Genuinely fantasic in all areas, more chill and adventure based whilst still having an overarching story and deep world building. Usually I’m a fan of OPs that elicit a lot of sad emotion (Red Swan, My War, the last FMAB opening, etc) But Kick Back is such a good pump up song, and it’s hard to beat MAPPA’s animation. Plus the movie references are fun. So it’s a top 5 op for me for sure

I love the intro, I think it gets the energy of chainsaw man really well, I highly recommend looking up the English translation of the lyrics. One of my favorite bits of it is every time it says "a beautiful star" it shows one of Denjis new friends except when it shows the ghost devil snuffing out a light representing Himeno's death.

Mappa’s CEO said that season 1 was a financial success. A lot of people were complaining about the animation and the art direction the anime went with. It’s still a great anime, people just want to complain about tiny things. The movie is confirmed and has a teaser trailer currently out.

Loved this reaction, this show is incredibly well done. Denji is such a tragic and misunderstood character. Denji isn't some carnal being who only wants boobs, in episode 2 he even says that he never even thought about them since being with a woman felt so unattainable. He just wants what he believes is the "normal life" he couldn't live before and he truly believes that this is the next part of living the normal life that was stolen from him. And his tragic tale is that everytime he gets to the next point of what he thinks he wants in life either, isn't what he thought it'd be, ends up being ruined or tarnished, or ends up hurting others. It's the constant struggle to get a better life and constantly being disappointed by it, and therefore he kinda keeps doubling down on the idea of "well then the next thing I reach must be the one that makes it all worth it".

Some shows to get on your guy’s radar for potential future reactions! Blue Period - short and very moving show about finding and following your passions and the ups and downs that come with that. Kid does some art and decides to dedicate himself to it. It’s really good, short, on Netflix, and no one reacts to it. Gurren Lagann - One of the big mech show about the will to keep fighting. Big fights, over the top energy and power and insanity. There’s a thoughtful heart to the show under layers of some of insane fights and mechs and fighting spirit. “Believe in the me that believes in you.” Kaguya Sama: Love is War - longer romcom (3 seasons and a movie) about two high school students that are at the top of their class, in love with each other, and refuse to be the first to admit it. The show is a bunch of hilarious shorter stories of their attempts to make the other person to admit and the impact on their friends around them. It’s hilarious and wholesome and would be a great watch. Also no one reacts to the English dub.
