I think the dogs and toys comparison is apt from him because it shows both that he doesn't view his trainees as people, but does still care about them. Dogs and toys are generally still beloved and cared about. Earlier he said he liked Denji and Power, because usually his toys break when he plays rough.

2024-07-03 02:26:40 +0000 UTCWhen a devil is near death it can become a fiend which makes it not die but in return severely weakening the devil for instance power the blood devil was a very strong force as was stated in ep 2 but she became a fiend and now can be killed Esayer so they are using the violence fiend because it is not as strong as he was when he was a devil but because of how strong he is they poison him to make him easier to work with

2024-06-24 03:25:15 +0000 UTCI believe that the future devil was looking at possible futures not just one solid one I think he does it to see if it is a better advantage to him if the Hunter has or doesn’t have some of his power for instance the guy who lost his eyes probably didn’t have a benefit future with the devil so he took a lot away from him so that the FD can still enjoy the deal when he saw Akis future he saw that if he used his power to Akis benefit then he will die the worst way possible so that is why Aki has the best deal with him

And yes, that's really just a fear of death... but isn't the fear of guns really the fear of dying from a gun? Of swords of being killed by one? Chainsaws? Snakes? It all circles back to death or pain. In CSM, fear of a thing creates a devil. The reason why you fear it is less of a focus, just that you do. Though it does make one wonder just how powerful the Death Devil would be

2024-06-20 06:13:05 +0000 UTCMy take on how Aki's future vision works is that seeing an attack in his immediate future doesn't necessarily mean he'll be able to avoid it. Aki could only predict/counter the Ghost Devil's attacks for so long before being overwhelmed by its arms. Just from this episode, CSM seems to run on the idea that the future is set in stone. The Future Devil's presence in Aki's eye has no effect on Aki's death, otherwise it wouldn't have offered Aki that deal.

As Captain Kishibe states when introducing the Spider Devil, devils with humanoid forms are generally friendlier to humans, or more human themselves. Also it seems like the relationship that a devil’s namesake has with humans affects this sense of empathy as well. For example the fox is a revered animal in Japanese culture and the Fox Devil lives within a shrine dedicated to it. It also seems like the namesake itself affects the devil’s nature. Like Beam, the Shark Fiend, is very friendly and social, like most sharks in reality. Also, according to Makima, devils gain strength the more feared they are, but they also seem to have powers based on human perception of their namesakes as well. Like the Bat Devil can produce an ultrasonic wave attack and has paralytic spit, the former being echo-location and the latter being a common misconception about certain species of bats. It’s not surprising, given that the general explanation for devils is that they are created from some collective unconscious of humanity.
