Carnal Abbey WIP - 10/11 & General Update

Hi all! Hope you've all endured the doldrums of summer. Today's "feels like" temperature at sunny Quixerotic HQ is 105F or a little over 40C. Pure misery to go outside. That's the weather, now on to other stuff.
First, Carnal Abbey:
These two chapters of Carnal Abbey took longer than usual because I got frustrated with how I'd done names (also we had a small flash flood I had to deal with). Initially I wanted the demon to inherit much of Anne's personality which meant keeping the name Anne made sense. Over time they would twine into a singular entity. As I wrote things out, that plan shifted to keeping Anne and the demon separate other than the foundation of the demon's appearance. And so, the naming pattern got really confusing and clumsy to distinguish between the two. So, I went back to chapter 7 and wholesale changed the name of the demon to Anniseth. Even that doesn't totally fix it. The nuns, particularly Sister Catherine, knew the demon as Melseth, so I have to establish the demon's new name for those characters, and I have to go back to the scenes between Melseth/Anne and reframe some of that narrative. For now, I've done a blanket name change and fixed it in the narrative from chapter 7 forward. The rest will get done in draft 2, but as it is now I can keep writing without the nagging feeling that I'm digging deeper in a hole I'll have to climb out of.
At some point I may point out the way the demon gets its name is by adding the "seth" suffix to the name of its host. Prior to Anne, the demon's last body belonged to a man named Melchior, hence Melseth.
I changed Ozzy to Ossiah. Ozzy felt a little too flippant for a sadistic fem-boy demon. The jump from the Latin to Ozzy also felt forced, even with Rosie being the one to make it.
The next three chapters will make up the rest of "part 2". With the above issues resolved, things have returned to a normal flow. I want to wrap this up before October so I've planned out a heavier focus on it for the next few weeks. As always, feel free to share your thoughts in reply to the post or DMs. And usual WIP disclaimers.
Second, what's that stack of stuff over there?
I haven't actually put out a lot of content in August. More than usual went on this feed, but overall it was a slow month for retail/public stuff. Usually this happens because I've gotten some writer's block or sucked into hyperfixating on something random that eats up the time I devote to writing erotica. This time, I've actually been writing quite a bit, but I'm undecided on what to do with it.
A few weeks ago, I posted "Made to Order". While revising it, I went back to some notes on a potential series with the working title Furry Tales (which I refuse to believe no one has used yet). Subsequently, I wrote three different stories in a very short span of time that all focused on transformation with a more furry trope bend to them.
That's not exactly new ground for me. Crimson Reborn, for example, features plenty of anthro-transformation. But, the recent Ventitrax series turned out to be much more popular than I anticipated, and my theory for that success is that it cut straight to the anthropomorphic stuff rather than couching it inside a story about demons/corruption. Clarity in marketing sort of thing. But Furry Tales or whatever it becomes called will emerge "soon". I want a couple of more banked for some steady, weekly releases before going live, I think.
Third, what about that wall of yarn and hastily assembled post it notes?
I've also been sketching out other ideas with an unusual thoroughness. Writing Neighborhood Bull and Carnal Abbey have contributed to a nagging need to draw out bigger story arcs/worlds all at once rather than piecing them together.
Currently, I have several ideas rattling around in my head.
1. A return to Mind Deviancy. The first class of Evelyn's finishing school gets up to mischief.
2. An idea suggested by a wonderful patron involving a put out tempter of souls trying to relax while locals throw themselves into the damnation pile.
3. A fantasy story I've mentioned before involving a genderswapped protagonist going on a fuck adventure to solve a curse and maybe save the world.
4. A series of longer works that establish some more concrete boundaries for the Milktec world while indulging in hucow hijinxs.
5. More with the witches and fae of Rituals of Samhain. I really liked the slice of life stuff behind those stories and want to do another set. Its particularly nagging as Halloween approaches.
6. A transformation oriented episodic series akin to The Little Red Pill in its focus on relationship as a method to spicy content.
7. A werewolf story. Never done a pure werewolf story and that rankles me for some reason now that I've realized it.
And that's not an exhaustive list by far. Nor is it in any particular order.
Finally, but we like shorts!
While writing longer focus stuff has been fun, writing Mooing MILF Milk was a blast. Sheer, nonsensical, raunchy fun. I have to occasionally remind myself that I can get bogged down in tone or world building. Foreboding is good for some stories, but others need a jolt of ridiculous fun. Not the most profound realization, but an important one for occasional course correction. So, the shorts in the coming weeks will likely be more akin to "Mooing MILF Milk" and "Dirty Drinks" than the more ponderous stuff like "Master of Tenevoyles".
That's the update. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. Thank you all for being patrons and allowing me to work on stuff like this. As always, happy reading!
