HSA-932: Veronica
Added 2022-08-01 22:53:34 +0000 UTCOli hopes for a relaxing night out, but at the suggestion of his friend, Steve, they wind up at the same bar as Steve's ex-girlfriend, Veronica. Steve makes a desperate effort to mend fences with his supposed soul mate, but Veronica acts stranger than usual. Oli discovers how much of a monster the woman truly is as he comes face to face with a manifestation of The Flesh.
First of the two patreon stories for August. This was a fun one to write and a nice break from the big mythos stuff going on in other works. In particular, the second short memo at the end from the nerdy researcher who is excited to see his colleagues. I like the contrasting voice, albeit minor, between the grim horror of the agent facing a monster and the researcher essentially getting a new pet abomination. Might be a fun, lighter way of telling an HSA story in the future. Cause some of those researchers have to be full on whacky to cope with the stuff they deal with on a day to day basis.
As a heads up, this HSA story centers on body horror similar to HSA-82.
