Something I never noticed the first time I watched this show was that the guard transporting the prisoners insists they eat food, which they have a bunch of. It's a weird inclusion if it was just a "last meal" type of thing, and I don't think what Makima does with the prisoners seems to result in their death. It makes me suspect maybe it was a "gluttony devil" or something that she used to kill those people remotely; it might also be why she doesn't get drunk. Her closing line in this episode about "the dining in this city is to die for" also adds to this theory. Or, at the very least, whatever devil she contracts for the attack feeds off the food the prisoners ate or something.

RIP Himeno and Arai I like to think whatever was left of Himeno's consciousness was what compelled that Ghost hand to pull Denji's cord. We didn't have much time with Arai, but it's admirable he didn't hesitate to shield Kobeni. If he hadn't, Denji would've been captured.

Devil Hunters can contract multiple devils, Aki for example has two we know of, the Fox Devil and the devil he invoked with his nail sword while fighting Katana Man. So it’s probable Makima has a whole suite of powers at her disposal. She’s obviously incredibly powerful and ruthless. I love the complete and utter self-possession she displays at all times juxtaposed with her peaceful and seemingly benevolent mien. Like it’s beneath her to even be outright threatening or violently coercive when she’s obviously in total control of whatever situation.

Random but i really recommend "Hajime No Ippo" if solo levelling was good motivation fuel. its an older anime but damn, its so motivating and inspiring to watch (also loved the "fear of egirls" and "donutted them")

They showed the transformer as a nod to Neon Genesis Evangelion... They have multiple references to eva throughout the show... Showing the powerlines and stuff is roughly a metaphor for human connection
