Hey all, opening this up a little earlier than usual for you all and will be trying to get it posted a little earlier as well, as a formal apology for the delays in content lately. I'm happy to say that April and May, for the most part, are a lot less busy for me travel-wise, and I'm looking forward to getting a bit of extra content up for you guys!
Hi Friends, welcome to this month's Q&A!
In the comments of this post, I encourage you to post any questions you may have regarding producing - questions about sound design, mixing and mastering, organization, etc. Towards the end of the month, I will make a video going over as many questions as I can and demonstrating the answers for you all.
For example - say you just can't get your muddy-sounding kick to sit right in the mix. Feel free to ask me how I process mine, and I will show you exactly that. Another example - say you are struggling to get -4 LUFS out of your tracks. I will give you some tips to help you progress towards that standard. A final example - say you are curious how I made the bass sound in "Pack a Punch". I will do my best to explain that process to you!
This post is open to the public, so you don't have to be a patron to leave a question, though the video will be for patrons only. Ask away - I'm excited to begin this process to help you all!

Hi coach! Just was curious about how you typically start out when you set to do a remix/bootleg? I’m struggling to really get a good starting point/ good momentum when remixing

I know myself and a bunch of others would love to play some of those remixes out! Thanks coach congrats on all the shows recently can't wait til you come to Australia!

I checked on Youtube and stuff but i'm not sure to really understand. Can you please go to Ableton and show a phasing problem in mono and how to fix it ? Thanks :)
2023-04-18 19:13:11 +0000 UTCHi coach I have two questions (I don’t know if more than one is possible, so I apologize in advance) 1) I often see a problem with a lack of frequencies in the 400-600 hertz region, despite the fact that I use 4-5 bass layering for mid-bass. At the same time, the increased number of frequencies in the high-mid region. However, if you believe your ears, it sounds pretty good. What do you believe in such situations analyzers or your ears? 2) What can you say about copyright in remixes. I understand that I can not use my remixes in music platforms, but like you, the artists whose track is remixed react when you see them on YouTube or Soundcloud? Thanks a lot for your support!
2023-04-12 19:48:17 +0000 UTCHi coach, I was wondering how one finds good vocalists. So far I've only used Splice but at some point I'd like to personally work with someone. Fiverr comes to mind, but are there any other ways to do this? And do they write their own lyrics? How have you done this is the past? Btw, you mentioned in the feedback video why you quit giving private feedback sessions. I just wanted to say I'm sure there are enough Patreons who are willing to pay more for a higher tier to get private sessions, so it becomes profitable for you :)
