FEBRUARY COMMUNITY Q&A

DEADLINE IS 2/23/23

---

Hi Friends, welcome to this month's Q&A!

In the comments of this post, I encourage you to post any questions you may have regarding producing - questions about sound design, mixing and mastering, organization, etc.  Towards the end of the month, I will make a video going over as many questions as I can and demonstrating the answers for you all.

For example - say you just can't get your muddy-sounding kick to sit right in the mix.  Feel free to ask me how I process mine, and I will show you exactly that.  Another example - say you are struggling to get -4 LUFS out of your tracks.  I will give you some tips to help you progress towards that standard.  A final example - say you are curious how I made the bass sound in "Pack a Punch".  I will do my best to explain that process to you!

This post is open to the public, so you don't have to be a patron to leave a question, though the video will be for patrons only.  Ask away - I'm excited to begin this process to help you all!

Maybe this has been asked before, but will there be tutorials on visuals? Just some things to get started with, cause yours always look sick af🙌🏻

Bloadfailed

Hey Coach! Apologies if you've touched on this before, but I just wanted to know how you like to route your mixes. Each artists has their own sauce that set their mixes apart. Is there anything in particular that you do that you think sets your mixes apart from others and why? You da best Coach! - Beau Falcon

Hey Coach, A few question, but simple ones. First, can you show me/us the synth (arp) in the intro of your track falling? 2. are u interested to do a track from scratch or remix? 3. last one, maybe a sample/preset pack for patreons in the future? 😍 Thank you sir! All the best to you 🙏🏼

my mannn i need some help recreating a noise that would fit so perfectly in one of my wips it's in a song called Forever - Rome in Silver & Tails at 1:02 it's like a bass stab or something and i cannot for the life of me figure it out in serum. thanks man

Howdy Coach. I hear from a lot of artists that is important to find "your sound" and stick with it to build a dedicated fan base. How important do you think this concept is to building a following? I primarily make melodic music, but I want to dip my toes into heavier bass genres like hybrid trap, riddim, bass house, etc. to add energy to my live sets and flavor to my discography. You mentioned in your previous Industry Advice video that you lost a portion of your fanbase doing something similar, and that it took you a while to earn them back. Do you feel that attempting to straddle these opposite ends of the spectrum, melodic and heavy bass music, would be detrimental to my success as a growing artist? Thanks as always, SkeuZ

Hey crank! I’m interested to know how you approach intros/verses. I tend to start with the drop and kinda struggle to make an intro that’s not painfully simple and bland. Thanks!
