Dipper on the other hand got to know about them by coincidence as he stood by UV lights (s.2ep.1 - also when Stan got to know about it) , which made Dipper more curious by the additional hidden texts in his journal alone. The combined information on the portal pages + the lies, in Dipper's perspective gives him all the proof that "Stan isn't Stan" or might not be trusted. TLDR: Stan and Dipper have different aspects and knowledge about turning the portal on and what it can cause.

Outside of the fantastic story, amazing animation, and hilarious writing, part of the reason that this series has such a strong fan base is that we were basically tortured with seemingly random release dates for each episode and it made our love for this series stronger. The bandage on Stan's hand has been a consistent thing since the end credits scene of Society of the Blind Eye. It is a visual way to show that all the episodes since that one ar occurring at nearly the same time.

Feel free to look it up sometime, though.

It’s a fun read and there’s a really good fan dub on YouTube by Charley the Pirate Theydy. Could be a fun reaction as the comic is kinda meta and pokes fun at the fandom while giving us some more stories with our favorite characters.
