Simple, anime can do impossible things lol, first create an impossible situation, then create situations that happen through a miracle and thrill everyone. This is the infallible formula for a good anime and that's why I've been watching anime for over 15 years, it always works. Situations in human life where only a "miracle" can save lives or situations are one of the types of sensations that most touch our hearts and anime works with this in an incredible way.

Before he was beheaded, his last thought was "I need to unleash my Rotating Circulatory Slashes". A lot of people speculate that because it was the last thing he thought, his body did it as if he was doing it with his head attached, because the signals to his brain were sent to his body, but he was beheaded before he could release the attack himself.
