We saw that he understood the purpose of what Zero's actions were, at the end of the episode. Do you think he is just THAT smart, or that Lelouch so much reflect what Britannia stands for- using people lives for own goals- that it was easy for another Britannian to read his ways (takes one to know one situation)?
