Agreed! The first two episodes are very introductory, both in how the thematic material is handled, and who the main characters are. Episode 3 is when this show hits its stride and never looks back.

Important to know: each episode of vox is almost exponentially better than the last. The 1st episode is the worst episode of the show, which doesnt make it Bad, its just, not even close to how good it gets even only a few episodes later. None of this is spoiler since Scanlan basically introduces everybody with his song. I would love to see Vox Machina, but props to Gravity Falls if it wins it (and since they have already put five episodes of questions up, my guess is their minds are already decided). Gravity Falls is a big influence to a number of shows that have won the polls here, so I can't get upset about that. But they are missing out if they don't get to eventually watch Vox Machina (or the Dragon Prince for that matter). Even if they just watch it on their own time, I hope they eventually see what we are excited about.

Gravity Falls is a good show. I do like Vox Machina too, but Kenny and Montana are allowed to pick what they want. Gravity Falls is also short, only two seasons, so no big deal. :)

You guys are in for a treat with this show. It may not seem like much at face value, but holy cats, it's quite the standout. This show broke crowdfunding records when it was first announced, originally planned to be far less, the initial goal was something like 750k. That was surpassed in the first hours of the Kickstarter. There are loads of brilliant voice-actors like Travis Willingham(Mustang from FMAB), Grey Griffin(Azula), Matt Mercer(Levi), and many many more. You'll definitely get the hook with episode 2, and I can't wait to see more Vox Machina on this channel. <3 <3

No question just big critter hugs. The Vox Machina universe aka the world of Exandria is going to expand dramatically. Critical Role recently signed a deal to animate their second campaign which takes place ten years after the first one... which would probably be after season 4 maybe 5 of TLOVM. There are also possibilities of them making films on either their one shot stories with the characters from the campaigns.

Just to throw this out there if you do get the urge to watch this, the "critter hug of death" is a thing. The critical role Fandom shows up hard so if you're worry about less viewers becuase your audience is asking for gravity falls there will be a influx there. Not saying this to try to guide the decision so much as if you do get the urge to assure. This Fandom crashes websites that critical role plugs and their kickstarter for this show is so scary Amazon prime picked itnup

I don't know. Keyleth is a solid choice (and my personal favorite) but I can see Montana completely digging Pike right out of the gates. Keyleth is a slow-burn, but Pike is awesome right from the start.

TLOVM is based off of a role-played adventure by Critical Role. So it wouldn't be a stretch to say that much of the plot development is driven by the roll of the dice. With that in mind, what are your expectations in terms of the story and how its adapted? Animated shows based off of tabletop role-playing games aren't new. Long ago (well... 90s) there was an anime called Record of Lodoss War which also was very much based on a table-top game (D&D?). It hasn't aged exceptionally well, but it had some very memorable anime characters like Deedlit, Ashram and Pirotessa, and it was a pretty well-written story.

For whatever reason I could never really get down with Critical Role, I’m more of a Dimension 20 and The Adventure Zone guy. And I don’t think I even made it through the musical number before I had to turn it off. It just made me cringe for some reason. But if y’all like Dungeons and Dragons and have never listened to The Adventure Zone, boy, let me tell you, it’s fuckin’ good. The McElroy Family are just hilarious people. And Dimension 20 is something special too, Matt Mercer has done numerous DM round tables with Brennen Lee Mulligan who runs most of the D20 games.

Nate Stevenson creator of She-Ra and Aimee Carrero voice of Adora both having played in their livestream game. Matt Mercer (their livestream dungeon master and voice of many additional characters in the animated show) you'll probably recognise as Levi from AOT... Not a question, but OMG, I really hope you guys watch Vox Machina, voice acting is legendary, it's got a rollercoaster of emotions.
