Back to SoVR and how 2025 will roll out

Hello everyone,

Now that the side-dish is done, we're back to SoVR. I wanted to take a bit of time to explain a bit how I envision the rest of the year for the game's development and also tell you about a few constraints that will be in the way. To make things clear, I'll make categories.

1) Current Yuki Progression

This part will contain spoilers so if you don't want to read them, you should jump to point N°2 ^^'

At the moment, Keizo's quest is locked because it needs two base images done for me to be able to finish everything about it. For Emiri, it's 2 and a half base images. Next to that, there's Akiko content to do as well and Yuki also needs her birth content. So it's not finished. You heard about the whole liquid problem, for the moment, Peak has to deal with them, so there's delay in the lineart process due to that. There's also the fact that some of the current scenes have extra content to draw that haven't been drawn yet (we're trying to only draw what's necessary for an update rather than draw everything in one go like we used to do.) In an ideal world, all these linearts would be finished before the end of summer so that we can tackle the start of Ayame around September/October (there might be a chance that we overlap working on the two at the same time so I can start working on her scenario part even if she won't have many scenes at the beginning.)

The next update will contain the last big new place for Yuki's scenario: the Yokai Farm. Yeah, I didn't implement Yokai in the original scenario just to leave the concept on the side. This Farm will be accessible for every playable girl but they will each have their own interactions with specific NPCs. I made research for it to be as credible as possible in terms of Yokai design and lore so I hope the Japanese people playing that part will see that ^^'

The next update will also (finally) allow me to add NPC teasing. I've been wanted to add this for a long time. It's bubble content that is more focused on NPCs doing stuff to the character more than the other way around. Normally, some NPCs in the hideout and some of the homeless spawning with the skill "Homeless Attraction" are supposed to act like that: teasing girls on the get go. The whole idea being that the girls react differently depending on their perversion level.

Tl;dr:

- Keizo has 75% scenario done (needs 2 base image for the 25% left)

- Emiri has 50% scenario done (needs 2,5 base image for the 50% left)

- Akiko will have her own side quest (needs 3 base images)

- Side content (scenes, quests etc...) are roughly 25% done.

I'll give more specific details about this month's update in a next post.

2) About the other girls

I thought it might be interesting to make a point about that specific topic as some patrons have asked me about it. After Yuki's part, I'll work on Ayame's, Naomi's, Reiko's and Anaëlle's in that specific order. They will all have 2 main quests like Yuki + extra stuff. Each girl will have a new female NPC to meet (like Emiri for Yuki) + a female member of the main story. Hopefully, though, these should be a bit faster than Yuki for two reasons: we won't lose the time we lost on countless variations scenes and some elements that are common to each girl that have already been done under Yuki's part won't need to be redone afterwards. But yeah, I'd like each girl to have her proper screen time.

3) The upcoming events

2025 will be marked by two events that will (unfortunately) prevent me from uploading a new update for a month (at least one for sure.) First of all, I think I mentioned it in the past, but it's important to mention it again: I'm moving out this year. While it's definitely not for tomorrow (Probably September at the best), the month I'll be moving out will be tricky. I have no idea how much I'll be able to work (I'm going 500 km away from my current location) during that specific month. Maybe I'll just need a single week off to settle again, but maybe I'll need more if there are still work to do in my new habitation. So that's a big question mark, but now you know it.

The 100% sure month there won't be any update is June. The reason is simple, I'll be in Japan for three weeks. My moving will change a lot of things in my life and one of them is the proximity of my friends. After I've moved, I'll be away from all of them (notably Hime.) That's why I wanted to make a sort of "final last trip" because I don't think I'll have the possibility to go back to Japan for a while after that (unless I manage to secure a place to sell the finished version of SoVR at the Comiket 8D.) Considering I can't pause stuff, you'll have to unpledge yourself for that month if you don't want to pledge (I know it's unfair to SS subbers because they can't pledge back.) I'll try to make the biggest possible update for May so that you can wait two months instead of one ^^' But at least, you know what to expect from me.

4) Will SoVR get another month of buffering?

Normally (and I insist on "Normally"), no. From my perspective, considering what's currently ready, what's worked on, what's planned etc... if you put aside June (but it's not a buffering month, Peak's coming with me :x), all the months of 2025 should have an SoVR update. Of course, you never know what can happen, if a team member disappear or not. But if things keep their current configuration, it should be good. Ideally, I'd like to delay that possibility for as long as possible :x

I think that's all the things I needed to mention. Now you have a clearer view on the rest of the year (even if we're only in April x). Of course many elements I can't control can influence all the things I said (notably the behaviour of the sites I'm on :x) but these are the big lines.

I'll see you next time. Maybe I'll make a financial situation post (haven't done one in a while). I don't know. Anyway, see ya o/

You should just add the buffer. Everyone here knows you guys are giving it your all but you can only do so much with the staff you have. Take a step back from the abyss, And breath Blue.
