Hello everyone,
As I mentionned a couple of posts ago, the next update is for The Hunter 2 and you were asked whether you wanted a normal update or a smaller one.
The normal update won by far, which pleases me quite a lot because I was expecting the small update to win (but I guess the whole thing about the result not changing PeakJump's speed played in the results :p)
So ever since SoSEL has been released, we're aiming at a full update for TH2.
What to expect in that update?
I've written everything I needed to implement in that update. But I'm a dick. I'm a dick in the sense that I carefully plan everything on documents to have a clear view of what I want to do and what's the first thing I do? Something I haven't planned :x
You see, I've never been totally satisfied by the battle UI for TH2. I think I made some good things. Have a full 3D background was a good idea, having the creatures facing Kaya with a sort of blending in the background works pretty well, but there are elements that are still bothering me.
The UI of the windows (of course I made them myself so they kinda suck) and more importantly, the fact that the UI (and notably Kaya's sprite) prevent me from showing bigger versions of the battle pics. To me, they're the core of the battle (in the sense that it's what the players are the most interested in.) So having them in such a low resolution just because it overlaps Kaya's sprite otherwise is a problem to me.
I've been testing different layouts these days and it's through a conversation with Hime that I ended up changing things completely. Basically, I'm currently working towards having a side-view battle.
Here's a screen. Of course, everything's in WIP state so don't fret if a lot of things look off.
The final goal will be to have a rather "normal" menu (close to the game's main menu UI) that isn't too big as well as life bars placed somewhere else so that I can have more space to show the battle pictures. Considering Kaya is now ON the battlefield, I can show the animation over her and her sprite isn't a problem anymore. Of course, that will require more work, because I need AT LEAST 3 poses for Kaya: a normal one, a "moving" one (cause she'll go towards the enemies when launching a skill) and a "critical state" one for when she has status ailment or her wilderness is low. That being said, I think it'll make the battles a bit more lively overall.
Seeing Kaya rushing to a dog and then seeing the blowjob skill pop-up will have more impact I think ^^
Anyway, there are things to work on but now you know it, I'm working on an upgrade on the battle and it wasn't planned 8D
However, what was planned was the (finally!) implementation of Horniness. It's meant to work as a Final Fantasy Limit where you can launch a super skill once the bar is full. That first skill will be automatically available, unlike the rest of Kaya's skills that will need to find precise items to learn them.
I'm not going to detail everything else for the rest of that update, but I'll still mention the global guidelines (and I'll detail them in their respective posts.) Of course, you know it, there will be the brothel revamp. In terms of story progression, it's not going to be everyone's taste, I'd rather warn you :x (I'm only talking about the sex side of things. Story-wise it's (hopefully) cool. But for the sex? Only the most fucked up will love it ^^'). I'll have to create a new category in the fetish selector so that people can decide to not see what this future update will be mainly focusing on. The only good thing about it is that it's not something much visible, and it'll mainly be about text. If any of you has some nostalgia about the first game, you'll actually be able to go back to a place that was available in The Hunter. But I'll detail that later.
In terms of side quests, there will definitely be a new NPC available (which is already there in the current version, she just doesn't talk yet) that will be easy to slutify (not everyone will be as long as Sasha to slutify, it's a question of personality :)), there should be a side quest leading to some recurring smut with new characters (new as in "new to have sex with" not "new in the game") and finally, I've planned the next step of Catherine's quest (Catherine has always been meant to be one of the biggest side quest of the game, so it's far from being over :x). Thing is: I'm reaching a moment where the content of that quest is quite huge so I'm not sure I'll be able to implement it for that update. I'll have to see how the rest progresses ^^'
Anyway, that's all for now. As you can see, there are many things to look forward to and I'm quite eager to provide all those modifications and additions to the game :D
