Battles! (And Poll... And Stream...)

Hello everyone!

Let's start by the shortest thing: the stream. This saturday I'll be streaming with PeakJump and JFC. Considering how unable I am to work while talking I'll do as I said last time: I'll be playing some H games instead of working. Peak and JFC will still draw but at least you won't have any surprise concerning me :x Starting hour is the same as always 6 pm (UTC+1)

Then we have the poll. JFC's. Yeah the duration is short but you know us, we're airheads so bear with us. As usual the girls can be voted right here:

And the situation can be voted here. This time you'll vote for the sex position. The situation has been locked: it'll be some homeless old guy situation 8D

And now the part that will probably interest you the most: Battles.

I never hid the fact that sex battles would come back in TH2. But like with many things in the first game, it was an element that was both a bit awkward and not regularly developped through the whole game. Of course, things will be different this time. The list of creatures is already decided, I've already made a list of all the skills Kaya will be able to learn through the game etc...

Things are still in a WIP stage but the majority is done. Let me show you that.

This is the current battle screen. Of COURSE the first creature of the game HAD to be a dog. But to spice things a bit they're zombie dogs. There are MANY things to talk about.

1) The background. It struck me as I was searching for 1080p battle backgrounds for RPG Maker MV and realized there were literrally NONE (only scripts to extend already existing ones, which makes things ugly as fuck.) I thought about asking Kai to draw them and then I thought "what about making the effort of making 3D ones?" I'll be honest, 3D backgrounds are a real pain. That's why you don't see backgrounds in my renders (that and also the fact it allows much faster rendering.) But I thought "if it's JUST for battle backgrounds I should overcome the problem". I'll maybe curse myself at some point but for now, it's my choice. And I gotta admit that having a real 3D background makes 3D creatures blending much better. I also tweaked the paws to make it look like they're hidden by the grass. This way the dogs looks really in the background (I had to add a false shadow so that they pop more though, otherwise they lacked visibility as they're not from the same render.)

2) The stats. Wilderness = HP, Stamina = MP. Nothing new under the sun. Horniness, however, is totally different. Do you remember the whole "horny" system in the first game? That crap is gone. No need to slow battles asking the player all that shit to make the creatures horny before having the right to sex them. Now you can have fun right away. So what is Horniness used for? Well it serves its original purpose. It's a limit bar. Fill it and you'll get access to an ultra skill that will empty it :p

3) Kaya's sprite. It's bigger than in the first game. It could be just that, but actually there's a trick. It moves :p You'll have to believe me but I borrow a script from MogHunter that changes the picture depending on the action. Kaya has 5 different poses. Standing (the one you see), healing (when she recovers wilderness/stamina), action (when she uses a skill), damage (when she's attacked by an enemy) and down (when she's KO). That last one I cheated, she just disappears from the screen XD

The skills are always the same. The menu is meant to look like a ripped book (horizontally). The upper page is the skill description and the bottom page is the list of the skills. Like in the first game you'll have Solo/Duo skills. Except that it not question of raising horniness or whatever. Solo are skills Kaya does on her and Duo are for enemies. There will also be icons on the left of each skill. We're still in the process of finding proper ones.

This is probably the biggest WIP of the list. We're currently searching for a background design for the skills as the original one in the first game were pretty bland. PeakJump came with that stuff and we're digging in that direction, trying to improve it on different sides. Like in the first game the color code of the background will depend on the skill (attack/heal/buff/debuff). As soon as those will be ready, I'll pack all the battle pics as well as one of the scene ready and I'll make a post for the $25 tier (probably in a couple of days.)

There are some tweaks that we'll work on (like the Fight/Run away screen which is stupid as fuck so we'll replace it with the main command list in which we'll implement the run away option.) You have to know that MV being what it is, it kinda sucks when your game reaches "big" resolutions. So the animation system isn't thought for 1080p games. The pic you see above is a mock-up. Hime is currently working on a script just for me to be able to implement big battle pics otherwise it's just not possible -_- That's why the smaller details like the menu changes or the battle messages are not worked on yet (she had to work on something else first :x)

There are other things I haven't talked about like the fact that Kaya will level up with battle xp but only for stats evolution. To learn new skills you'll have to find items and/or clear specific quests.

Now you might be wondering what will be the goal of those sexual battles? And I will answer that in the next big post! :p

Meanwhile, I hope you're enjoying the current look of things and I hope I'll see some of you on Saturday's stream!

See ya o/

That sounds really good in my eares :D

I'll answer that in the next post indeed. But there's no secret in the numbers. The ??? in Kaya's status are meant for the creatures. There will be a total of 15 creatures to fight in the game.

Ark_Thompson

Hey ho Ark, hopefully in this game is a bit more variation, in difference to the Hunter, where we only was able to train the creatures once and only a few. I liked the idea rly well and im still thinking that you can make mor with that system from the first game, maybe we will see it later at the brothel or so. Best regards Satyrer
