Hello everyone o/ Sorry I'm slightly late. It's kinda frightening how I'm getting slighty overwhelmed by the amount of tiny things that prevent me from writing everything. Unlike my previous games where I could write all the dialogues right away, here there are many things to tweak beforehand. If we don't make sure everything's good, I might end up in the situation of having to go through ALL dialogue box of the game to change that "tiny" element because it should've been made right BEFORE. As such, I can foresee a slight delay in the release. I'm not saying it will happen, but due to the numerous "new" elements I have to take into account for a first version (by new elements I mean new scripts and features), my guesses of schedule are not the best unfortunately -_- I'll keep you updated anyway. So let's move to the preview themselves. First of all, what you see is a presentation pic. For some reason, I can't, for the life of me, record properly MV so I couldn't make it a clip, but know that this is actually animated. Even if "animated" is a big word. It's just the different elements flying from different direction into their final place. But it's much more dynamic than the static pic present in the first game. I also took the liberty to NOT put the whole "past" thing and just write a quote per girl. Technically since you're supposed to have played the previous game, you kinda already know it. However, as one of you pointed out, it won't necessarily be the case (there's bound to be players that will start with The Hunter 2 directly and people who'll have mostly forgotten most about those elements.) As such, in the next update (not this one cause we won't have the time), I'll implement a sort of "index" for all characters with their detailed past (a proper rewrite of the one you can see in The Hunter.) This will also help you know characters better as one of the hardest thing in the game is probably to remember all the girls in the village (and adding people from Ambriosa sure won't make things easier ^^') The second pic is the new village! Unlike the first game (where I didn't know where I was going), this one had been planned and sketched out first before being created. Hell, I even sketched it on square paper at a 1:1 scale. My biggest wonder about the village was the following: Should I give it several screens like in the first game, or make a huge-ass map without transitions? I understand that making maps that are too bigs are a trap in which many devs fall (that's why most of SoV2 maps are small.) But I decided to still make it a huge map for two reasons: 1) There are A LOT of houses. And each of them is already a transition. That would have made things even less bearable. At some point, having to go through 5 different maps just to reach someone (like Wiola's house in the first game if you started from Kaya's one) is just a chore. Here, at least, you can go in any house from the get-go. 2) The biggest problem about huge map is the character speed. Except that I'm not making TH2 to brag about how long the game will be by adding elements that increase the game's length artificially. As such, you'll be able to activate an item that will allow you to double your speed right away if you find the game to be too slow (exactly like in the first SoV.) The advantage here is that unlike SoV it's script-oriented so there are no conflicts with cutscenes (while there were in SoV.) I also tried to order things properly in terms of "where is what". Most of habitations are on the left side and the "facilities" are on the right side (there are exceptions, but that's the main idea.) The main square (on the middle right) contains stuff meant for people of Ambriosa coming to visit the village. You have booths held by different girls (depending on what they sell), as well as Carmen's bar and the Varela's haircutting salon which are, to me, the two places Ambriosa people could come for specifically. Basically none of the choices are innocent. Be it the river crossing the village, the walls around it, the look of some buildings etc... You might be worry that this place might be easy to get lost in and you wouldn't be wrong. But that'll be the reveal for next time :p I'll show you in a few days for it o/
