You might be wondering who's Linh? And you'd be right cause she changed quite a lot since the first game. Even though I didn't do much. I only changed her skin. I'll explain things in detail in a short while. So? Did you find who she was? If you answered "The Wolf Queen", congratulation. Thanks to the fact she saved Kaya and helped Talia and Ishtar kicking the Free Folks out of the village, she earned her place in the village and sure plans on doing everything in her power to keep it. She didn't have a name though. "The Wolf Queen" was the bloodthirsty woman she used to be. She had to drop it and decided to use her original name, Linh Tran. Why does she look that different though? It's a bit complicated to explain. Linh was already a G3 character in The Hunter. So basically updating her should've been REALLY fast. But I had a big problem in the first game: her skin didn't look as it should. Sometimes, the people who create the characters you can buy on the Daz store create skins that are meant to react more reastically to light. Usually, the reflections and stuff like that are much better on those skins. But there's a downside. If you're like me and don't have the time to deal with light in scenes, you use the "auto-headlamp" feature which is quite awesome. It's basically a feature built inside the camera that simulate a global lighting depending on a virtual lamp you're placing somewhere in the camera field. Since dealing with real lighting is something very complex and not worth at my poor level of rendering, I always use that feature. I only have to deal with the Z axis to tweak things. And when things are rendered, instead of rendering real light like most 3D renders do, the auto-headlamp only makes the skin render AS IF the light point was real. Said simply the light is simulated on the character and that's all. If I put 4 walls around the character, it doesn't work anymore. It's really for basic renders. Anyway, the original skin of Linh was one of those skin that reacted very well to real light and very poorly to auto-headlamp. So I decided to change her skin. Considering she has an asian type, I wanted to get rid of that strange skin color she had in the first game and searched for something more straight forward. You have the result in front of your eyes. She's exactly the same body-wise. Only the skin changed. But as you can see, she doesn't look like the same girl at all (I even kept her original hair, just tweaked a few morphs on them). She doesn't look shadowy anymore. And that's way better. Of course, I took the chance to change her outfit. Her outfit in the first game wasn't really thought. Like most people in the Free Folk I put full sets that seemed fit. After all, she wasn't originally meant to end up in the village. If I made that voting session on Patreon back then it was because the idea occured to me AFTER ^^' So I wanted to come up with something that showed both the fact she was used doing some dirty work (gloves/boots) but not necessarily by herself (her outfit is halfway between something you'd put for practical reasons as well as for just looking good.) It sure looks like she's a total stranger (and regarding the village, she is. So it's not that much of a problem if she looks too much different from the original game.) Of course, as you can guess, her two wolves are still with her :p Here are the full-size clothes variations: https://mega.nz/#!F4M2zKpB!QvWPsrDNb6-i_LkR805BiuaM09UwBz4ixdGyVZLZaeA If I decided to show you Linh that acts almost like a whole new character it's because chances are high I won't be able to post anything before the 26th. Gotta deal with Christmas stuff (Family coming on Christmas Eve). But I'll make sure to post at least one new girl between the 25th and January 1st. Starting January, since it'll officially be the start of the production of The Hunter 2, I'll start posting more than just reworks but also stuff related to the game. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and I'll see you next week o/
