Guest Artist of the Month | Smoke Tricks by SilkyNova

 “Hey it’s me Nova again! It’s the tail end of the month, so I hope this wallpaper is a good way to close it off. ^^

I really love Aphrodesia, so I was super excited to do a wallpaper based off it. I really wanted to include all of the characters but the idea of fitting all of them was a bit difficult, so i settled with four of the main cast. I also wanted so badly to include Lefty in this! However, I’m not good at drawing vehicle (yet!), so I made the compromise to including at least his heart at the center.

What I did first was start off with Piper, moved on to Jules, and then finally settled with Jambee and Tmon. I did a lot of practice drawing cherubs as I struggle with doing straight lines, so it was fun to practice for a few days until I finally felt that I could do Jambee and Tmon right.

For the rest of the drawing, I want to give off the vibe that the entire swirl design is made by the smoke from Jambee’s cig, hence the dramatic swirls and plumes that fill the page. Secondly, I wanted to incorporate a few symbols that represented the characters and placed them around the smoke in places I was sure they wouldn’t blend into the background.

That’s all I have to say! I’m just overall very thankful to have been able to work on a wallpaper for the Studio. Happy May!<3

Both were absolutely BREATHTAKING and their art style will forever live rent-free in our minds! I swear, I can still taste flavoured marshmallows each time I look at these pieces...

The Sunny Day Jack one was unsettling in all the best ways, while this AphroDesia one is adorable and SUPER colourful. It almost reminds me of an old piece of TMon merch we used to have!
