Ares wasn't made with love in mind was he? I mean in Greek myths him and aphrodite was a thing, but I thing that is just a opposites thing. The Ares the wrote in this show was only made for war first, love caring selflessness, that's all stuff that is foreign to him...imo anyway

2025-05-16 18:41:46 +0000 UTCThe way Gabrielle looks as Xena when Meg calls her butch: “Xena, what’s a ‘butch’?” For a split second there Renee broke the 4th wall. I feel like all of Xena’s enemies except Najara and Livia had some attraction towards her that made them put their passions before their senses. And it’s funny how Caesar is the one who says that that’s the key to defeating Xena, yet she’s able to turn it back on him. There was only really Callisto that stood a chance in defeating her while still feeling something for her. Whether that be searing hatred or blind admiration … the point is that she was absolutely fuelled by it and it ultimately led to her defeat every single time. I feel like to truly be a challenge to Xena, you have to be detached to your emotions over her and most of Xena’s enemies did not have that because they let them get in the way.
