I really like Ares. For all his flaws, I think he truly gets and respects Gabrielle's role in Xena's life. I think to a certain extent Gabrielle understands the same for him as well. They are connected in their love for Xena and can respect at least that part of eachother.

2025-05-09 20:13:55 +0000 UTCGabrielle has quite the development earlier in the season, but yes, I agree… with the baby in the mix,… her development kind of just fizzles out or gets lost in the chaos of everything going on with the Twilight of the Gods narrative. But… on the plus side… it does show you just how loyal Gabrielle is that she’s so ride or die for Xena and Eve.

2025-05-09 16:24:39 +0000 UTCI hate the end of this season so much 😂 😭. Anyway, as much as I like most of this season there's one part that just feels weird to me. I feel like for most of the show we get to see so much of Gabrielle's POV and growth. We follow her journey. But this season it felt non-existent. She's truly just a sidekick for the most part. I think dealing with the baby and being chased by Gods et al changed a lot of the feeling of the show. They did well for the most part but it left me feeling something was missing. I say this now because Xena just 'died' and I guess you could say that closes one chapter of the story. Looking forward to the next
