Unfortunately they couldn’t. Not until a certain point anyway. It would have meant their jobs. It was before Ellen. Homophobia was that bad back then. What they ended up getting away with was already quite remarkable. And like I said. It’s the fact their intention was sincere and they tried their best to do it despite the censorship is what makes the Xena lot a cut above the rest. There’s creators today that aren’t that brave.

2025-02-21 02:32:43 +0000 UTCThere are a few things I like about this episode, including all the skeletal goings-on. They bring the work of Ray Harryhausen to mind, perhaps deliberately. (It was certainly deliberate in "Once A Hero.") I figured you'd be very responsive to Alti's line.
