Well shit.

[I got hacked]

Recently there has been a targeted social engineering attack against Souls creators. And I was dumb enough to fall for one.

The message was from SekiroDubi, who previously helped with extracting voicelines for Elden Ring. The message was about "trying out a game" they have been developing, and I did. Safe to say all my information got hacked. Discord 2FA did not help as the session tokens were directly stolen.

After noticing a google alert of an unauthorized login attempt, I started running Malwarebytes to remove all of the offending virus (thanks windows defender for nothing btw). This of course triggered the "hacker" to get pissed and they sent over all the detail that was obtained and started threatening.

I did not respond. Soon my discord email was changed I was kicked out.

I've regained control over all my accounts after some frantic messaging, changed all my passwords, enabled 2FA or accounts that didn't have them, and deleted all my saved passwords from my browser and installed a dedicated password manager.

Shame it happened, but so far no lasting damage has been done. If you receive any similar discord message do NOT respond, even if you know the person.

My Discord has been suspended for the time being as well. So this update won't be in #weekly-updates.
