February Finale

We've reached the spring season and there's a grand ol' stretch in the evenings now ~

For this 'Patreon Exclusive Post', we thought we'd try something different, so we'd like to introduce you to our LFAB GAME CLUB! This isn't gonna be a regular thing or some podcast lore gimmick, rather it's just a small and occasional space for us to highlight three video games (one from each of us). If you listen to the podcast, which I'm sure you do, you'll have heard us talk about theses games before, but maybe you haven't played them yet. Hopefully this will convince you, please give them a go!

Niamh's pick - Control (2019)

It's available for free on Sony PS+ for a few more days, it's never been more accessible to get a hold of. You've no excuse not to play it!

Control is a third-person action-adventure video game created by Finnish game studio Remedy Entertainment. The game revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a secret U.S. government agency tasked with containing and studying paranatural phenomena. As Jesse Faden, the Bureau's newest Director, players explore the Oldest House - the FBC's paranormal New York headquarters - and utilize powerful abilities in order to defeat a deadly enemy known only as the Hiss.

Bryan's pick - Magical Pop'n (1995)

A super cute gem of a game that got left behind in Japan during the late era of the Super Famicom (SNES). It's since become a cult classic with an English fan translation available, if you know where to look...

Magical Pop'n is a side-scrolling action-platform video game developed by Polestar and published by Pack-In-Video exclusively for the Super Famicom in Japan on 10 March, 1995. When the Demon King's army steals a magic gem that holds tremendous power during an invasion from the castle in the kingdom of To'ahl, the Princess sets out on a journey to retrieve the stolen gem back, before it is used for world domination. Its gameplay consists of platforming and exploration with a main six-button configuration, featuring special moves and techniques.

John's pick - Moonlighter (2018)

An indie game that's available on a variety of platforms. Play it or John will beat you up.

Moonlighter is an action RPG with rogue-lite elements about Will, a shopkeeper that has dreams of becoming a hero. To make a living, Will needs to venture into the dungeons near his town, defeat strange enemies, and obtain items he can sell in his shop. Managing the gold from those sales wisely is the only way he’ll become strong enough to open the final dungeon. Moonlighter has procedurally generated dungeons, extremely hard bosses, many unique items, mountains of gold, many silly and interesting enemies, and only one shop at the center of it all.

See!? Sometimes we talk about video games!
