Update time!

While the audio tracks are recieved and assemblied for Tifa's anim (I was told that I'll recieve the audio tracks arround the 11th) I've been re-working Neytiri's model. kinda want to use her again for a couple animations and the model feels outdated to what i'm capable of doing today. I've almost spent the whole afternoon converting all tris to quads by hand. since selecting the whole mesh and doing tris to quads was not giving the best results, and i want the best for her <3


And yeah, I still owe you that panam and judy animation ;) Will render it today overnight. Cound't do it before since I had to wrok hard for this month's Pure Onyx release :3

I have tried in the past baking textures from one mesh to another. but since most of the times i'm re-using face models they tend to be a little annoying in the retopo stage xD but I'm starting to conssidering re-sculpting the whole things from scratch. mostly to make higher quality textures and more puffy lips <3

sounds like the quadrangulation algorithm in blender is about as useful as Maya's. I feel for you, i have done this a few times too, it is rather tedious. Next time i am going to experiment though. I am going to try and completely retopo the model, and use a function i found that can transfer an existing texture map from one model to another, with different UV's. I have already had success doing this with the a duplicated mesh, with the only difference being one has completely different/cleaner UV's utilising UDIMs. Successfully transferred the texture map between the two UV's, with only a couple of small anomalies that can be tidied up in substance/mari. In theory, the same should work for a retopo'd model as long as the shape is essentially the same

I use to select the whole mesh and do the Alt+J but since this is an fbx import exported from 3DS MAX it doesn't behave as good as other models I'm used to. So i mostly cleanes up loops and started by ctrl+ with one loop selected to select the adjacent ones and seemed to do a fine job for most parts. But I would say i had to Alt+J 50% of the faces on this one

Right after the panam and judy one since it got the most votes. I'll be rendering one every two days (one day for render, one day for adding sound etc plus alternate angles) :3

What about all the other animations that you said that you have and are ready to render? When are we gonna see those?

Hi, what is a question for you to clean the vertices of the retop, do you use alt + j or do it all the retouch from scratch?
