Case of the- i cant do this, the title is too silly
Added 2020-02-22 04:33:44 +0000 UTCI'm just writing this text to ensure that anyone who has any delusions that I may be a good author isn't put off by the title. That should be long enough!
...Anyway, this story is called "Case of the Cumbrains." Now you probably understand why I had an existential crisis in the middle of the title for this post.
In this story, Victor has a nice chat with his friend Gale online about a nasty little illness he came down with. When magic begins affecting diseases as well, you get some interesting ailments. Including cumbrains! For the next week or so, Victor's going to get that much dumber with every cumshot. He's got his masturbation scheduled out, but things so rarely go according to plan.
This was a fun story to write! It's also a story that I'm real happy with regarding how "sexy" it is. It's all well and good to have a slow burn, but in this story's case, the slow burn is more in regards to the mental effects, not the sexiness. It also gave me an excuse to write some "chat" style dialogue, which is honestly the kind I enjoy writing the most. Hopefully you enjoy watching Victor slowly make a series of impulsive decisions I mean gosh wow no way is that going to happen in this story!!!
Thank you so much for your support! I appreciate it more than words could possibly express, so I hope I keep living up to your expectations!

Really great story and really great to have all these new releases. I hope this continues and potentially picks up in speed as you draw more backers, which I'm sure you do.

2020-02-24 03:03:32 +0000 UTCYeah, "dumb speech" is weird because in reality, a "stupid" person (whether we're mocking "meatheads", whatever that means, or even just sincerely talking about someone with an actually diminished mental capacity) probably wouldn't use that kind of grammar. It’s more like someone who’s a native speaker of some other language, but a beginner level English speaker and tries to get their point across as best they can, by using the words they know so far and not really bothering with conjugation. But in fiction it’s all too often just ”me am dumb, me no speak good.” But to counterpoint myself, as an affectation some forms of it can be really effective and under the right circumstances, quite sexy! The first thing I thought of was a Santa Baby -parody song from the sitcom Community, ”Teach Me How to Understand Christmas”, that ends with the exchange: "Eventually you hit a point of diminishing returns on the sexiness..." - "What's a dimini-myeh-myeh-meeh?" So yeah, as someone who’s literally into MC smut, I'm the last person to throw any stones. :D I sorta happened to skip PS2 completely, so I never got into Disgaea. ”Depraved” status ailment sounds hilarious, though!

2020-02-22 20:57:23 +0000 UTCI do love kinda "dumb" speech, but just like you said, it's something that's never quite as tasteful as the alternatives available. As for the "staff" joke, that was sadly unintentional, more just an attempt to show that Gale was a crude kinda "bro" character, as much of a "bro" as a woman can be, at least. An Asklepian would almost DEFINITELY coil around a certain type of rod when she's engaging in sexual healing, though. ;P And finally, Esuna is from FF, obviously, but Espoir is the equivalent spell in Disgaea games, which are decidedly raunchier compared to other JRPG franchises. And while I don't think an equivalent status exists in FF, Disgaea has a status ailment called "Depraved." If we're going to assign a disease like "cumbrains" a gameplay counterpart, that'd be it, I think.

2020-02-22 20:25:12 +0000 UTCRe: Typos in speech, exactly! I guess they could also go full caveman/hulkspeak, but that’s always been a weird and semi-problematic trope anyway. And I sorta hedged my first comment, because I wasn't sure if you got the idea from somewhere else, but man, I think you may actually be the first to come up with calling a healer Lamia an Asklepian! So weird, because like you said, the serpent imagery dovetails beautifully. Oh wow, I just realized that before Victor said the doctor was an Asklepian, Gale was joking about her nurse, i.e. her "staff"! If that was an intentional pun you might be an actual genius, sir! :D Ooooh, and I just got an idea to throw at the next GG bonus pairing poll! Caducean Lamia twins! ...yeah, I’ll calm down for now. Oh, one more thing. I got the palette swap and Esuna references, but I gotta admit the ”Espoir” part went over my head. I even tried googling for it, but came up with nothing. :o

2020-02-22 20:11:26 +0000 UTCI'm glad the chat format worked well! I didn't want the entire story to be chat messages for dialogue, but it's just so darn fun to write. And yeah, people can't exactly make "typos" speaking aloud unless you count mispronunciations. As for the idea of an "Asklepian" lamia, I haven't heard of one before, but it seemed like two ideas that dovetailed beautifully! I was raised on turn-based RPGs, so I guess you could think of an Asklepian lamia as a "recolor" of the original, one specializing in healing magic. Of course, I don't think Esuna would have helped Victor. Maybe Espoir? ;P

2020-02-22 15:36:45 +0000 UTCFun, ultimately very sweet and the chat format worked really well to show the personalities of the characters and the way the illness progressed. Also, I liked the line about an Asklepian Lamia - in hindsight it seems like such a brilliantly obvious concept that it must be a pre-existing thing, but I don't think I've ever run across it before.

2020-02-22 10:51:03 +0000 UTC...it would admittedly be kind of hilarious to make the sample text for the post completely different from the story itself.

2020-02-22 06:45:38 +0000 UTCHere’s an idea for a snip - Woman says she’ll marry whomever can get the key from around the neck of a specific cat/fox. The person who finally does it manages it via kindness rather than any traps... the twist? She IS the animal.
