Just a little bit of depth-of-field effect can do wonders- I try not to overuse the technique, but had it in mind for this panel ever since the thumbnail stage.

Rough blues get the overall placement of the figures & props established- usually the perspective & composition is already largely determined by the thumbnail.

.5mm HB and .7mm 2B mechanical pencils get the details solidified- I use graphite for inking instead of... Well, ink. Just always felt more comfortable, and gave me more texture and precision.

Digital tools provide great inking options now, occasionally I'll use them for a stray fanart piece or something. But for graphic novel work, I just can't quit the real thing.

Can't deny there's something magical about seeing a drawing come to life in a book, with color and FX and the whole 9 yards.
Even though we're working mainly on the Dreamkeepers lore book for Ascension, the official TTRPG, and I tackled a swathe of commissions this summer, we're still making tracks on new Volume 6 pages! Stroke by stroke.
FYI for the fresher backers- first off, thank you! And secondly, our rough update schedule for what I think of as 'main project' announcements is a behind the scenes sneak peek every other week. We rotate between Prelude, Volume 6, and gaming samples, so you'll see a little bit of everything as new Dreamkeepers stories and books get closer to launch.
