They may have removed all mentions from the Sclopio Peepio documentation or whatever but the process is still there. They don't really like to talk about it and I'm sure most of the lay jamokes who answer the phones have never heard of it and will deny it exists when asked, as my diocese did. But if you insist, and while insisting, constantly reference the sex abuse the bishop the lay jamoke is representing on the phone was personally implicated in, they will indeed provide you an official Defection if only so an old represeed lay catholic volunteer doesn't have to discuss kiddie fiddling. While doing it they try to give you the gym membership cancellation hard anti-sell and its hilarious when you ask them to detail all the actual yhings you're losing out on by quitting and the list, in its entirety is "you can't be buried in a Catholic cemetery" and your response will be a dumbfounded, um, yea obviously, I'm trying to LEAVE THE CHURCH, cemetaries included!

I once took a call from Joseph Gannascoli I was raised in a Protestant sect that claimed to be the original Christian church and that all others were founded by Satan.
