woo! i remember requesting rhalgr's ruin YEARS ago, glad to see it finally get heard, it's by far one of my favourite pieces in the game. It comes right after the rebels, who you had been making such great strides with, are absolutely *gutted*. they're stomped flat by the imperials and shown that the only reason they exist is because the imperials allow them to. Everyone is downtrodden, countless people are dead, and the Warrior of Light is served their first loss *EVER*. Zenos wipes the floor with you, leaving you alongside one of your companions on death's door, and at least one of the people you met and bonded with from the army you find dying on the ground, asking you to deliver his pendant to a friend in order to remember him by. It's the perfect gut punch because it's the first time you really feel that sense of tragedy, that feeling that you aren't invincible, that just because you're the "good guys", doesn't mean you'll always win. the slaughter (not fair to call it a battle) and the aftermath do an amazing job of plucking at heartstrings and setting the tone for stormblood: one of sacrifice, hardship and witnessing the cruelty of the empire firsthand. You only ever hear this song twice, and the scene you're seeing is the first time. It's a massively underrated piece but GOD if it doesn't resonate if you stop and listen.

2025-11-14 23:50:51 +0000 UTCThe Praetorium dungeon was the "final dungeon" area for the story when the game was re-made, it has gone through a lot of changes to an 8 person dungeon with skippable cutscenes, to a 4 person dungeon with unskippable cutscenes that was around an hour long with the final boss for A realm reborn at the end. To a 4 person dungeon with cut-down unskippable cutscenes and they also split the final boss out of the dungeon so that you dont have to do it all at once. You also asked if you fight others, there is PvP but its not the best since its using the MMO fighting mechanics and is not super snappy since you have to be close enough to do damage, even as a ranged class.
