I'll leave some suggestions down below, because I've thought of doing some of these things in the past, but wanted to get your input. Not saying I'll do any of these things for sure. But if I get a little time I might consider it if there's enough interest. Just putting out feelers for now!

(it was unintentionally forwarded too fast) I would have liked to see (and learn) some more on the topic that was only shortly given mention in a conversation between the MC and Lydia: ".... we are actually not to blame for becoming junkies, we had no choice...". So what brings certain people into a "using career", and others not? I assume its the brain structure, to what extent the "gratifying center" is dependent on artificial dopamins from the outside to kick in, while others may be able to produce them internally. Maybe by exercising exhaustively, sexual activities, etc. Hence my suggestion: Your well devised characters could, possibly in prequel-like talks, elaborate on how they started and what they think - in retrospective - they could have done to stem it from the onset.
