Modding/PDF Guide Pet Peeve Rant!
Added 2021-11-25 15:47:32 +0000 UTCJust to be clear, since I've gotten a few messages about a mod I just dropped.
I will not continue to update any content were the developer is constantly going back and reworking/adding things to previous parts of the game, unless it's minor or super easy.
Point 1 - It's not fair to you guys to have to start completely new saves every other time a game updates. There are acceptions, like switching Android ports or a bug etc. But by in large I've always despised this as a player. Ask yourself, do any of the really good devs EVER do this? Dr. PinkCake, Philly etc... the answer is no. I personally believe with my own game, either get it right the first time or wait til it's done to go back. I'd like to re-render some of my scenes from the first few chapters. But, I'm not gonna take dev time away from working on new content for you guys, which is what you'd rather have and what I feel obligated to do.
Point 2 - I have to start everything from scratch and redo work I've already done. Example: I redid the Intertwined Mod 4 times before I finally said no more. This is compounded by the type of mods I do (Harem) which most of you prefer. It's not as simple as just highlighting the choices like these cheat/multi mod modder's do. I alter nuanced parts of the code to bring you every possible sex scene. So it's much more work.
Point 3 - I maintain I have always done this for the community and what you guys give me for my Mods/PDF's I consider donations. The game is a different beast, because I have to put money back into that. That's why I reward higher tier Patreon's with early access before public release. Even when it turns out I have to drop a Mod/PDF by a dev that just won't stop reworking parts of their game, it still doesn't mean anyone else does more content than I do. I do the most by a mile!
Point 4 - When I do a Mod or PDF for a game I am essentially giving free advertisement to that game. Which means I'm supporting it by doing content for it. Due to the things I shared in Points 1 and 2. I have a hard time continuing to do that when I feel the developer is mistreating their patrons.
Conclusion - If anyone doesn't understand what I just wrote, I'm not sure how I can articulate my stance any clearer. I will likely always continue to do Mods/PDF'S at some level, because I enjoy it and it's a nice change of pace from game development. But, I think you all know that's become my first love, so my time is precious. However, I will not continue to support other Devs with my content I feel do not deserve it, due to what I mentioned above. Hope the majority of you can see my point.
As always, hope you are all doing well, and Happy Turkey day to those of you in the States. Cheers!

AMEN! I have dropped support for developers who do that once too often for me. I can handle it when a developer forces me to restart early in the game. But when they are a dozen releases in... Come ON!

2021-11-26 16:09:05 +0000 UTCThere are at least 3 games that I really like but I have not played in months because the devs decided to go back and remake things. I will play them again when they have "new" content beyond the point that I played last. I always appreciate the work you do on walk-throughs and mods. Thanks
