The Star Ocean franchise of video games has managed enduring popularity, originally from Enix games and later from the fusion of Squaresoft and Enix, Square-Enix (sometimes whimisically called Squeenix). Of the series, I like Star Ocean 2 (The Second Story) and Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time best. Star Ocean 3, in particular, had not only a very interesting story (especially towards the end) but some truly excellent music, of which its opening theme, "The Dawn of Wisdom", is my favorite of all.
This piece is, in my mind, the opening theme for Demons of the Past, and represents the Atlantaean Empire, the precursor of the civilizations that exist in Demons. This is in great part due to the visual opening of the videogame (here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuZzvRIj4Vw ) which uses that same music to show the progression of humanity from our time through the future. And while of course some imagery (particularly the future Statue of Liberty) ties the video imagery to our Earth, the feeling of the video -- the beautiful, shining world of advancement beyond our imagination, huge and clean and shining, with trees and birds in harmony with humanity's greatest works, that's the essence of Atlantaea.
Perhaps you, too, will find it inspiring.
