I nearly spit out my drink when you said that day sounded more icy than night, to me the day theme sounds like extreme sports which could include snow themed sports while night is what I think an igloo’s theme would sound like, cold, cramped yet comforting. Also I would suggest playing this game but stay the hell away from the ps3/xbox 360 version. This is because the hd version of the game has these things called sun and moon medals that you have to stop to search highspeed sections for them. It’s really bad game design. The Wii/ps2 version rewards them to you based on how well you did in the level which is good game design. Unless you get a hacked copy of the ps3/xbox version that gives you all of the sun and moon medal I suggest not playing those versions, they aren’t fun. Also they perform worse unless you are playing theme on the most modern hardware and even then they aren’t great.

2024-09-11 12:18:11 +0000 UTCI agree though I'd say Generations is a more digestable and representative first game for Sonic (Ik technically not first first game but yk) Unleashed is a very fun ride and honestly I'd love to see that just for the music cause maaaaaan Unleashed does not miss on the ost at all

2024-09-11 06:50:20 +0000 UTCThis is exactly why I think that Sonic Unleashed's OST stands a notch above others. I love other Sonic soundtracks, too, but the day/night thing means the OST is more varied than the others. It's also worth noting that each stage also has a small hub world, so really, they form groups of four songs: hub day, hub night, stage day, and stage night. All songs belonging to the same group have similar style, yet they're varied, as you just saw, and the tones vary significantly between groups. If you ever decide to play a Sonic game on stream/VOD chanmel, I'd put my chip in for Sonic Unleashed, honestly. It has one of the best OST's (which is saying something), it has diverse gameplay, it has the best freaking intro in the history of the franchise, it isn't plagued by bugs like Sonic 2006, it still looks gorgeous, and it's just a ton of fun.

If you look at gameplay later you should know this game had 2 very different versions which use the same music. One was for PS2 and Wii and the other one was for PS3 and 360 which i recommend a little more. I would have requested both day and night, but i had only so many request slots open at my tier. I am really glad you liked both songs, but then again, we are talking about sonic here. Lots of good music to be listened to, so many yet unheard by you, if you didnt make VGMV the choices would be much harder
