Download for feedback: Assertive Happiness for Emotional Inertia
Added 2017-09-14 17:07:05 +0000 UTCIn the base game, people complain about sims being happy too much. With Emotional Inertia, the opposite kinda becomes true: sims are almost never happy. It kinda bothers me that there's an entire mood, with unique animations and interactions and stuff going unused, so I've been looking at ways to give it a role in the Emotional Inertia mod.
This is a script mod that lifts the 'assertive' feature from Uncomfortable Overhaul and applies it to the happy mood instead. If a single happy moodlet has a strength greater than all of the largest other positive mood's moodlets combined, the sim will be forced out of the other positive mood and into the happy mood. It mostly means a +2 happy moodlet will overcome a +1 'Still X' moodlet, and make the sim happy.
I've been playing with it for a while. I'm not sure if there would be any purpose to it in an otherwise unmodded base game, but as an accessory to Emotional Inertia, I think it works well. It adds a bit of nuance to happy moodlets.
What I'm not sure on yet is if it is an unambiguous improvement that I should just roll into the Emotional Inertia script package, or something I should offer as an optional download on the Emotional Inertia pages, or something I should offer as a standalone mod on its own download page.
Give it a download and try it out. Any feedback on the idea, your experience playing with it, or any of my thoughts in this post, are welcome!
