Since you asked about it the Touhou series wears it's inspirations on it's sleeves but most of the IP is an original series on it's own. The series started in 1996 for the public, in 1995 he finished development of the first game for college as a study project on PC-98 and sega saturn. So I can assume that most of the series does have himself ingrained into it.
