Touhou 15.5 - Tonight Stars an Easygoing Egoist ~ Egoist Flowers

Also, i noticed you ssid props to the artist, ZUN designs basically every character and .5 fighting games have different artists draw them, every mainline game is drawn by zun

Also games like 15.5 (which is a fighting game btw) usually bring in popular fan artists to make the arrangements of old character themes

Im pretty sure touhou technically doesnt have concerts, but ZUN usually goes to cons with fan artists and just goes up on the stage and dances and sings along to a lot of fan arrangements, its very fun

It’s the first time it ever happened in Touhou, and not too many game tracks I’ve listened to attempt to emulate the feeling! The second arrange you listened to was an arrange that, from my recollection, is officially recognized by ZUN and is technically a part of the game’s official album but is on a disc that was for arrangements not by ZUN. Also, funnily I forgot to mention but most character designs are by ZUN, which is fun because if you look at his in-game art throughout the series you see him evolve as an artist in both a visual and a musical sense. In the intermediate games (those between mainline numbers, like 15.5 and 17.5) the artwork may typically be developed by the people he collaborates with on those since those games are more experimental in gameplay and the like.

That makes more sense, totally forgot about an in-game sort of live concert setting >_>

A couple of things I guess for Touhou 15.5, Antinomy of Common Flowers. The song featured here is the final boss of this game, but the set stage for this boss is that you are in a concert setting, hence the “Live Version”. The concert is “played by” in-universe characters, the Prismriver Sisters who play trumpet, violin and keyboard, they are joined by Raiko, who is a drummer in Touhou 14 who you reacted to the theme of recently. The “live version” wants to emulate the experience of you fighting the final boss while the characters are at the concert and thus it emulates the clapping and cheering, I got really excited when I heard it the first time!
