I will say if you don't have context as to what happens in Final Fantasy 10, then this song is totally relaxing and calm. However if you do have context this song plays during sad moments, making the overall feel and tone of the song dark and depressing.

It does play during heavy dialogues (especially love when it plays during a certain part around the end of the game), so you were right on that! I really liked it when you said that the melody "talks to you" kind of thing, was a very interesting perspective.
