Howdy howdy!
I apologize for the late posting! I've been fighting off the side-effects of the booster shot for the last day and a half and dealing with IRL stuff even before that. It might take me another day or so to recover as I'm feeling extremely unwell at the moment. This month will be a little slow with content as I have a few IRL commitments I need to deal with, including visiting family from the 24th to the 28th. I will still try to do my best to work on the game to make up for the time I will be losing.
We're going to attempt Spooky being the primary writer for the next section of the story again this month. With a better frame of reference as to what is needed from him and what we've learned from the previous month, hopefully it will be more successful this time. In the situation where I will need to take the reins from him again, I might choose to focus on the gameplay features I need to develop first rather than finish up the story as the game itself is a bit light on "gameplay".
Anywho, here are the primary goals I want to achieve this month!:
1. Create a "Nurse patrol" system - A feature I was planning to try to make last month but ended up having to delay it. This will be the main persistent "challenge" of the game that will prevent you from going from room to room without consequence. The idea is that staying in areas where you aren't supposed to be will eventually cause you to be caught by one of the nurses and will cause you to lose that segment of time in the game (or some other punishment if this one ends up being too severe) and move you forward to the next time segment.
I'm planning to have the incontinence system affect the patrols as well, most likely making it so that the less "clean" you are, the high the chance is of you getting caught. This system will be the one that will require the most testing as I want to make sure it is both easy to implement and not too harsh on the players. I will try to release a demo of some sort to showcase this system so everyone can have a good idea of what it will be like.
2. Create "caught" and "hypnosis" scenes - I will be making a generic "caught" scene for each of the nurses for when you're caught during the patrol system stated above. I will also be making the hypnosis scenes with Nurse Mew that will play whenever you're sent off for a hypnosis-related punishment, most likely one for each stage of the bar, totalling 4 scenes with the last one leading to the game over as you're too hypnotized to want to/be able to leave the daycare.
3. Create a "logbook" - Another feature that had to be pushed back to this month, this is mostly fluff and gives you a record of all the characters you have met along with a short description. I might include something to track your status or your current "quest" as part of the functionality, but this is overall a lower priority feature I want to try to add in.
4. Finish Nurse Charmeleon's theme - Tennet is back and currently working on Nurse Charmeleon's theme to add to our list of character leitmotifs. This one will be based on the "Punishment theme" that already plays during the demos, but more upbeat, though this could all still possibly be subject to change in the future.
