There was a 3 CD soundtrack for the game, that was based off of the PC Engine CD-Rom version of the game, these are basically extended tracks of that game. Glad this one got picked. It was one I was really considering requesting it at one point.

2022-11-12 18:11:22 +0000 UTCThis was volume 3 of a soundtrack CD series, not of the game itself. The history of Ys 4 is infuriatingly complicated... After Ys 3, there was a lot of personnel turnover. Most of the Ys 1-3 people ended up forming the company "Quintet" and making Actraiser. Falcom had an outline for the next Ys game, but instead of programming it in-house, they licensed it out. Bizarrely, they licensed out the Super Famicom(SNES) and PC Engine(Turbografx) versions to two separate companies, who made two completely separate Ys 4 games using Falcom's plot outline and music compositions. Dawn of Ys was the PC Engine one, released on CD-ROM so it could use real instruments; Mask of the Sun, the Super Famicom one, had many of the same songs in chiptune form. (IMO, Dawn of Ys is the much better game of the two.) Just to make this more confusing: Falcom has decided that neither of these versions of the Ys 4 story is canon; the canon version of its story is now told in the much more recent game known as "Foliage Ocean of Celceta" or "Memories of Celceta", without a number in the title. It has its own modern versions of many of the same songs!
