Traditional Art- Work Out!
Added 2018-04-07 22:50:24 +0000 UTCDoing an Undertale artbook project with a friend with the theme being fashion/outfits. This is the first piece I did for it, scanned during different stages of progress.
This was done with watercolour pencils, bleed proof white ink, and PITT pens for (some) outlines.
I think I've described this before but the way I used the watercolour pencils was by heavily drawing in squares on the side and then lifting the colour with a wet brush- you can see the swatches in some of the scans here, actually. With the PITT pens I took various coloured thin line ink pens and outlined select portions, then used a wet brush to push the lines, basically using the ink as a different type of watercolour almost. Not all of the outlines are ink pen, however. Most of it is watercolour. The white ink was used on places like Alphy's glasses, teeth, the highlights on Undyne's 'hair', aaand Undyne's top.
I generally really like this piece, the colours are really nice and vibrant (though I don't know how lightfast they are. I imagine not very). Alphys came out really well here, though the Undyne isn't my favorite. I'll be uploading a few more traditional pieces from the project in a bit :)
