Karo In Flight: Paper Lines to Paper Wings
Added 2020-01-16 13:30:02 +0000 UTCTo be honest, I think some of Dave's sketches are exceptionally lovely. And sometimes he will take one and color it, just because it looks so nice.
This is a drawing of Karo in flight, the original line art was a kickstarter reward back around 2014 or so. It has long since found a home. He colored a scan and showed the steps. It makes a nice print.
I'm very fond of this image so I decided to sculpt it using an unusual technique. My Karo is made of painted clay, but his wings and feathers are made of metallic paper and iridescent paint. He hangs from a wire about 12 inches in length, the tail is too fragile to stand.
Just an attempt to mimic feathers. Thought the effect was interesting. - Liz
