EA mod policy clarification

Comments

im continuing to support your great work, love all your content and you are one of the top modders and cc creators on my list, cant wait for your new items

Jaq

I am not knocking them for addressing that situation but they should not do it to the point that it imposes on those following the rules and try to regulate how they are paid. There has to be a middle ground and I think they could do better than what they are doing in compromise to say that the modders they are trying to regulate are fixing their mess. That is all I am saying. I completely agree about the doxxing and the permanent pay walls, but they do not need to be quite so short and stringent on the time frames either and I say that in support of the modders. Yes it may cost me a little more, but quite honestly if I didn't feel it was worth it, I wouldn't have signed on in the first place and I appreciate all that the modders do to enhance my game. I wish I could do it myself, but so is life.

Milz2012

I figured they'd allow early access but I was gonna keep my monthly donation regardless since you're one of my fav creators tbh. Anyways, glad you'll be able to keep this up!

Kayla Durandisse

It's shocking but Im here to support I'd rather have my money go to cc/mod creators than going to kits/any other packs. I refuse to pay full price just to go to the greedy hands of EA

chabii_chaux

Me too!

Kat Magi

I don't see no reason to stop paying now

amber taylor

EA really didn't have a choice this time. After that doxxing situation, there's no way they could've let perma paywallers continue not only ignoring their TOS but also putting the safety of other simmers at risk over content that half of them steal and resell at ridiculous prices.

Alex

So true! In fact, I tend to find more excitement in having new mods and cc compared to a new pack, kit or something from maxis.

Puking king

This is great news! I am here to stay, no matter what.

Puking king

as long as patreon still auto deducting im good with supporting

Sw33ti3 Coombs

true!

MunMun

Yay, I am so happy for you. I was so worried you would suffer because of Perma paywallers

Penny Hyatt

I honestly don't know if I would still be playing the game without your amazing CC. Anytime I'm losing interest, you release new recipes that inspire me to build a new restaurant or something that draws me back to the game. Thank you so much for all of your hard work!

Brittany

I am very happy for you guys. I can even cry because I know the amount of time you guys put in these mods and cc

MB

Magnin Pascale

Yes yes yes

Heather Dasher

And I was going to stay subbed regardless of early access.

Jeanette

It's always been part of their TOS from the moment people could start modding sims games (and just about every other game in existence) that you can't profit off their intellectual property. They had an extremely clear and very permissive policy already in place and a few terrible people very nearly ruined it for everyone. Perma paywallers went out of their way to dox people, they tried to ruin people's jobs and lives over a few bucks for some of their overpriced mesh rips from other games (among other things they didn't have permission to convert and sell). I get where you're coming from, I really do, and I'm not defending EA because, yikes, but this has always been their policy and they ignored it until people started getting hurt.

Jeanette

They need to go back into that post and clarify 'reasonable time' because the 'reasonable time' from before was EXTREMELY CLEAR and people still abused it. I'm just grateful for modders like you.

Jeanette

I find this truly disturbing for a number of reasons, but mainly because how dare EA. They sell us garbage all day and want to place restrictions on those that make their product better and give us a reason to want to buy their garbage. No shade to the Sims team, but with all of the restrictions EEA places on them and all of the complaints from the community about how they have been putting things out half-a$$ed, how dare they have anything to say about how modders charge for their time talent and energy! I really looked at my game the other day when I had to vanilla my game and 50/50 my mods again due to their patch. I'm looking at how the first few neighborhoods we got had like 12 to 14 lots that we could bulldoze and create our own world, now, we only get 5 to 7 lots for new worlds, really?? This all stuff Pixelade has posted on youtube, but it is a constant reminder of just how much the game has declined and they have the nerve to speak on how those that improve the game go about conducting themselves or their finances. I'm sorry, but disturbed!

Milz2012

So happy for all you modders! Especially since there are could-you-please-get-a-life-with-real-problems-players gearing up to take modders down apparently. Take care and looking forward to your creations 😁

Ardled

I'd already planned to continue to support, regardless of the outcome. Your hard work has made my game amazing for so long. 🖤🤘🏾

PJ Brown

Thank you so much for sharing this!

Simvana

That's good news! I really don't think Early Access of 2-3 weeks is unreasonable at all, and I'm glad all the modders (like yourself) aren't going to be negatively affected by those bad actors that flouted the rules previously. ❤️

Chelsea

I'm happy that you get to keep that, and those who were following the rules still get to have what they deserve as well💕😻

Desiree Williams

Yeah previous rule was 2-3 weeks and i think that will still stand!

MunMun

I assume "reasonable amount of time" would still refer to the previous 2 week rule? Its seems rather vague
