(Because none of my emails get read, I’m giving this a try) DRIVE THRU QUESTION: ‘Heel vs Heel’ Matches [JP Sterling from Fontana, CA] Hello friends—and I AM your friend! Thank you guys for the entertaining and prolific work. I haven’t watched wrestling regularly since 2000, but listening to your podcast brings me back to a simpler time. Mr. Cornette . . . If that is indeed your real name, I hope you’re doing splendidly over there in Louisv’L, Kintucky. I, for one, am sitting here on this fine Mondee afternoon watching one of my favorite matches from my childhood—Shawn Michaels vs Rick Martel, Summerslam ‘92. EhhhNeeWAY . . . It got me to thinking about how few ‘heel vs heel’ matches I’ve ever seen. This is the only one I can recall at the moment—the ‘95 Survivor Series ‘Wild Card’ match up, notwithstanding. My question for you is this… —What is the formula for getting a ‘heel vs heel’ match over; in terms of creating a storyline, and in telling the ‘in-ring’ story? Also, —What are some of your favorite ‘heel vs. heel’ matches?

Joel
